Salâm !

I am reactivating an old couchsurfing profile that I never really used, because I am spending this autumn (from September to December) in Tehran, in which city I will attend every day some classes of Fârsi at the Dehkhodâ Institute.

In this perspective, it would be a delight to meet people from Iran, because in the Institute, there will only be international students ! My level of fârsi is not very good for the moment (but I am able to lead a very basic conversation), but I started 6 months ago and try to exercise every day.

I will also probably try to visit some other parts of Iran, which I would really love to discover.

This question boils down to another question : why am I learning Fârsi, and why am I coming to Iran this summer ?

I am learning Fârsi because, after most classical studies of humanities (philosophy, literature, history), and a master of political philosophy, I was longing to do something a little bit more particular. At this moment, I was interested in geopolitics, then the JCOPA was signed, and I met some very nice franco-iranian people, and all these facts put altogether gave me the idea to study fârsi. Then, the idea grew up month after month, and I decided, this year, to really learn this language, and to do all my best to adopt the iranian culture.

So, this first travel to Iran, and these first occasions to speak fârsi "really" (and not to myself in the mirror), are extremely important to me.
