About Me

I am a blackberry and raspberry farmer from the Richmond area in Virginia (US). I graduated with a Masters of Education and am currently using it to train first time workers (mostly 16-20 year olds) about the value of farming.
I have travelled a moderate amount around the US and spent some time in Mexico, Europe, and Canada. I try to see somewhere new every year when I have time in the off season from farming.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend Bridget has hosted various people in Richmond and she speaks highly of the service. I wanted to look into it for an upcoming trip to Europe to hopefully see how good it can be.

Music, Movies, and Books

I wish I could just link my Spotify account but I like a range of music depending on the mood. Heavy bass beats usually with beautiful female vocals, lots of Indie, Electronica, Rap, some pop, so long as it fits the mood I can enjoy most music.

I like sci-fi and fantasy in film and lit. Though I can enjoy anything of quality. Some recent favorites book wise: Ready Player One, Stranger in a Strange Land, Modern Romance, Dresden Files, Seveneves, Cinder Spires, and Armada.
Some recent favorite films: The Martian, Nightcrawler, Narcos (tv but still), most comic book flicks are worth the watch for fun if not high brow films, I also enjoy a good comedy so long as it has thought in the writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
