About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live and let live, be myself and find the perfect chocolate bar

ABOUT ME

I love to be helpful. Seeing what needs to be done and doing it has always been my motto. what ever it is, dishes, firewood, or garbage, get'er done. I always say that kindness is important yet at the moment I'm having trouble remembering that when I teach the first grade middle school students. The third graders give me hope as they are a pleasure to be around.

PHILOSOPHY

Do my best, lend a helping hand, enjoy myself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a number of surfers in spokane wa and made a great connections with a host in rhode Island.

Interests

Living and working with different people in different places. Right now I'm in Seji, a tiny town in South Korea teaching English in a middle school. I wanted to get away from it all and be somewhere quiet and relaxed. I have succeded. My favorite pastime is riding my bicycle around the farm roads and stopping to help out when I see an opportunity. Everyone here is very kind and I have been welcomed into the community. Spending time with my students and people at the temple are also some of my favorites.

Music, Movies, and Books

A little bit of everything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helping build houses a month after the tsunami in Thailand. The people there had just been through a horrible event yet they welcomed me and included me the community.
Being in southern africa when Mandela was released from prison was an incredible time. I remember sponsering an essay competion for my highschool kids about the importance of his release. The kids pegged it right on. they said he would become president, whereas the adults were saying things like "he's the wrong tribe, he's too old" great memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy teaching and learning from everyone I meet. I've been noticing peoples habits of satisfaction lately. People who have habits that they enjoy seem to take great pleasure in those things. I enjoy lots of things but I'm not much of a person of habit.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Japan, South Africa, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Korea, Swaziland, United States
