Overview
About Me
If someone is interested to know about me, just google me: there is endless hours of video with me teaching physics. If you make a couch request, I also like to be able to do a search for your real name. If you want to get in touch, I am in the phone book.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I mainly participate by hosting. It gives the opportunity to really meet and talk with Russians, Americans, Iranians, and with people from different walks of life. I had really positive experiences with hosting young people. The couple that stayed the weekend, they cooked wonderfully exotic dinners, we finished the booze they brought as a gift, laughing at youtube videos from their home country. And there were others, a bit less memorable maybe, but still positive experiences.
Now I am also trying to surf. For that. I need to overcome my reluctance to approach strangers, but this will be more of an experience than staying in a hotel room.
Interests
Cycling (cyclists have a good chance of finding a couch at my place), science, history. Playing Ingress, the gps-based computer game. And cafés, in Sweden a fika in a konditori, in Berlin or Vienna a Kaffeehaus, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming with otters near the Orinoco River.
Walking around in Alyscamps in Arles, reading inscriptions on funeral monuments.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am not really fluent in German and French, but this is the only way of making them visible in the search filter; I need practicing. I have also tried to learn some Spanish and some Italian, but not enough for having a conversation. I can decipher the cyrillic and the hebrew alphabet, barely enough to recognize road signs.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to share with my guests Swedish traditions like fika, smörgåstårta, fredagsmys, lördagsgodis. And a meal, for example isterband with kale. I can show them the university buildings, also after hours. Or we could cycle around the lakes.
