ABOUT ME

Me in a nutshell: I'm very much 'into' sustainable living and I'm open to everything that's new (people, cultures, ideas, ...).

I can be very energetic, excited and bubbly, or very relaxed, calm and melancholic... I love canyoning, rafting, fast rides at fairs, hanging upside down, but on the other hand love the silence of a 6am morning and go down the stairs backwards because I'm afraid to fall off ;-)... But don't worry, I don't bother people with my 'darker side' when they're just visiting :-)

Overall, I think I'm very easy going - I like to enjoy the small things in life - a good conversation, the fresh smell of a winter day, nice music (=wax for the soul), ... If one of my 5 sences (or did someone say women have 6? ;-)) is moved, I'm happy :-)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living life to the fullest, enjoying every second of it... 'Se vivo felice, poi muoio contento' :-)

Music: Styles like balkan music, gipsy, brass, blues, klezmer, (swing)jazz, flamenco, bossa nova, ska,... Names like mister Tom waits, Vinicio Capossela, Gotan Project, Rabih Abou Khalil,Anouar Brahem, Boubacar Traoré, Tinariwen,...)...

Films: No blockbusters! I love 'slow' movies (Asian ones like 'Dolls' by Takeshi Kitano!), classics (Charlie Chaplin is great!), (old) musicals and some bollywood from time to time, Bregovic, Tony Gatliff, ...

Books: I should take more time to sit down and read, I'm hoping to catch up my reading-delay when I'm old and immobile :-) I now mostly enjoy books on history, travel guides, dictionaries, and the great poet Fernando Pessoa!

* I walked the Camino to Santiago de Compostella for five weeks in 2006, best thing I ever did! I'm not religious but it was a great experience anyway - walking is a fantastic way to travel! Waking up in the morning, just packing your backpack, no possessions, no stress, just yourself, environment, and great company in the evenings, waw...
* nov08-apr09) travelling 6 months in Argentina... Breathtaking nature...
* Cycling to Portugal...
