About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to change the world!

ABOUT ME

I love adventure, meeting new people and forcing myself outside my comfort zone--it's always worth it, if nothing else then just for the opportunity to laugh at myself.

PHILOSOPHY

vive la vida/live life.

one that has stuck on me lately: if not you, who? if not now, when?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed before and now I am just trying to become more part of the CS community here in Phx. I look forward to hosting and finally paying back the universe for all the fantastic surfing experiences I've had.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm fairly new at this but I am HOOKED!!!! This is really the BEST way to meet the BEST people everywhere you go! I will never travel any other way.

Interests

community organizing; movie making; bringing community organizing principles to the art of movie making! eating delicious food; music and books, of course; following the activities of my new president Barack Obama; figuring out how to change the world; knitting and sewing; spanglish; decorating and improving my new home with used/homemade items

Music, Movies, and Books

a few of my favorite movies: Sherman's March, Volver, Grizzly Man, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Quinceañera, Spellbound, Mad Hot Ballroom, Adaptation, Do the Right Thing, Hitchcock films, everything by Wes Anderson, and anything shot or directed by women.

Books: Axioms for Organizers by Fred Ross Sr., Dreams from My Father by Barack Obama, La Frontera/Borderlands by Gloria Anzaldua, The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, Catcher in the Rye by JDS, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped release 400 baby sea turtles into the Pacific Ocean once! Apart from that, I've met and grown close with a lot of amazing people--I'll tell you all about them sometime!

Teach, Learn, Share

If we band together, roll up our sleeves, work hard and ask the same from one another, then there's nothing we can't do.

As far as travel goes, the greatest thing I've learned is that things almost always fall into place! Trust the universe and trust others!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Mexico, Rwanda, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In
