About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have fun, travel, and experience as much as possible while I'm still young enough to get the most out of it. The more cultures I come in contact with, the more well-rounded I feel I am.
ABOUT ME
I'm a geek.
+I like caffeine, MMOs, and other sorts of gaming.
-I do not, however, like sweets, cheetos, or live in my mother's basement.
-I prefer vegetables to meat, but I am not a vegetarian.
-I adore music but I don't dance.
-I study languages but am too shy to speak them.
-I want to go tornado chasing but am terrified of little things... like bugs.
-I love the ocean but hate the beach.
-I want to own a plane, tall ship, and horses but don't care if I ever get a drivers license.
-I ran away with the circus, but I hate clowns.
-I'm not always right, but I always win.
If that's not good enough for you, I am currently working as a Call receiver for AAA. I know, I know...shuuuuuunnn. But seriously, Cass gotta get paid, son. In my freetime I'm probably playing MMOs, on LJ, hanging with friends, or trying to figure out how to make new ones.
I'm snarky and honest, but I swear it's not always a bad thing. I'm single and more or less perfectly contentedly so. I need that outlet for spontaneity in my life and commitment to one person terrifies me. I don't have kids and I don't particularly like them, but I probably won't throw yours out of your 8th story loft window. Probably. ;]
I'm more of a dog person than a cat person. I'm even allergic to cats, but I like pets enough that I put up with the allergies, so.
I'm pretty laid back--in the GOOD sense of the word, NOT the 'never pays bills or cleans up after myself' sense--I see you've met my ex-flatmate. Yes. Ex.
That said, as long as you aren't too right-wing to think for yourself we'll probably get on rather pleasantly.
PHILOSOPHY
I tend to think that I'm pretty open and accepting, but it seems that a lot of times the further from the norm a person is, the more welcoming I am. People who follow trends and try to fit in just don't interest me, generally.
It's a good thing that most of you here are crazy-cool, right?
I'm an atheist though I don't judge anyone based on religious beliefs. I have a somewhat unusual outlook when it comes to discussing/debating religion as well, but it's a little long to go into here.
Not really a personal philosophy but gay rights and the environment are two of the very few things I'll get up in arms over.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Joined rather recently so I haven't participated much yet. Would like to host once I find a new place, but I wouldn't subject anyone to my current roommates. Slobs. Oy.
Meanwhile, hoping to head up to NYC in august for the couch crash to meet some fellow CSers and start down the road to awesome adventures.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch-surfed Atlanta w/ a couple friends from this site during DragonCon last year. Not the best experience which I attribute to a lack of communication/understanding from the host.
Heard lots of good stories to make up for that one though. Here's hoping for a few of my own soon.
Interests
Music, history, architecture, cultures, books, languages, dice, gaming, alcohol appreciation (beer and scotch), tea, travel, new experiences.

Writing, abusing commas, snark, the internet, cooking, camping, drawing, and pondering future tattoos and scarification.

I was learning to play the bagpipes, tin whistle, and bodhran.
Books - Favourites are The Count of Monte Cristo, Trainspotting, Foucault's Pendulum, and anything else by their respective authors. Lovecraft, Hemingway, O'Neill, lots of other stuff that's historical or realistic and gritty.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran away with the Circus.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn languages, storm chasing, sky diving, and anything less extreme. Teach me anything and I will adore you.
Not sure what I can teach besides simple chainmail for jewellry. Or little bits of this or that. I dabble in a lot of things, but wouldn't say I do most of them well enough to teach.
