About Me
Hi, I’m Piotr –
Here I am, having studied and lived abroad for several years (I did five years of uni in Edinburgh, UK, and a semester abroad in Philadelphia, US), I am now back in my home country, living and working in Warsaw.
One thing I enjoyed most while studying abroad was meeting people from around the world – I am missing that now and hoping that CS can help :) I also plan to start using CS as a guest when travelling so I’m hoping to collect some good references as a host now.
I work as a software engineer at box.com and in my free time, other than consuming pop culture of all kinds (books, TV, music, podcasts), I do quite a few sports: yoga, gym, golf, and first and foremost, tennis (I’m really into playing and watching it these days).
I’m also a big fan of my home city of Warsaw and I’m never tired of walking, exploring, and reading about the local history and sights. I’d be very happy to share some knowledge and recommendations with guests!
At my place, I am clean and organised. I like to eat well (I may even share a meal I cook, who knows!) and sleep at regular times. I hope guests to be considerate, kind, and clean, and to keep the place as nice as it currently is.
My hosting comes with no strings attached whatsoever. Instead, I hope that guests will have a good time using my place and we’ll exchange good references at the end. At best, we might actually talk more and make a genuine connection. Always excited for guests who have something interesting to say or show - but it helps if you speak good English (or Polish).
If you want to ensure that I am a real person (or find out what I’m like), you can find me on Instagram at @piotrjander. The account is private, but if you let me know on CS, I’ll be happy to accept your IG request.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking to start hosting on CS. I live in a nice apartment in the center of Warsaw, and I have a spare bedroom. I have studied abroad, travelled quite a bit, and always enjoyed meeting fellow travellers - I figured I could be meeting them in my home city too :)
I love Warsaw, I actually read a bit about the local architecture and I could definitely give some recommendations for places to visit or even take guests out for a drink if there's time.
I'll likely be accepting requests for short stays for one, two, max three nights, for solo travellers, couples wanting to sleep in one bed, or potentially two travellers if one person wants to sleep on an inflatable mattress in the same bedroom.
Staying at my place comes with no strings attached at all, I'm here really to collect some references for my future travels, find a use for my spare bedroom, and help travellers discover just how nice Warsaw is.
