About Me

Unfortunately, currently not hosting - a refugee situation at my place (exceptions possible to people I know).

I work in a real estate company as a data engineer. I'm self-taught and have no university education.

I love new experiences, I'm a language geek, have way too many interests to be good in any of these and I love travelling of course.

I come from Gniezno in Greater Poland, I love the region where I come from.

READ BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST <3
To my dear future Couchsurfers:
- if you want to write a short request, and don't want to refer too much to my profile, just write: "shave the shrimps" as a sign that you visited my profile,
- I don't need any long requests - I rarely write them in a long manner, I need basic info about your stay - when you are coming, how and why; also any plans (or lack of plans) are valuable info,
- if you want to write a long request - it's always nice to read some personalised fun messages but you don't have to if you're not into it, chill,
- I don't enjoy 100% copy-paste mass-sent requests, lying and intolerance in the requests,
- please read my "My Home" section,
- I don't host occupants.

Ps. Some surfers want to buy me gifts - I don't expect it anyhow, you don't need to, REALLY. Just one thing - don't buy me high-percentage alcohol, I very rarely drink it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I registered because of my spontaneous hitchhiking trip to Iran which I started to plan using Couchsurfing - and I did it. And I discovered that it is a great way to meet interesting people so I also started to host travellers in my small flat in Szczecin to return the karma.

Interests

I love languages. My idea of learning them is very inefficient and it's just for my own pleasure. I am scattered between many languages that I can't speak fluently but I make slow progress in every each of them.

Polish is my native language, I'm fluent in English and somewhat in Russian, I also understand Ukrainian quite well and can speak it to some extent. Then I have knowledge in many many other languages with varied levels of low fluency.

Other interests are depending on the current ADHD obsession:
- craft beer (mostly tasting different beers, the whole craft beer market, local breweries and sensory analysis)
- music (I play the classical guitar, bluegrass banjo, sopilka, telenka and alto recorder),
- regional geography,
- travelling,
- cuisines and cooking.

I support Lech Poznań as my favourite football team.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. I'm all over the place in terms of music styles. Recently I went more into pop territories and my favourites are Caroline Polachek, Magdalena Bay and Lana Del Rey, I also enjoy a lot of rap, black metal, rock and many else.

Generally don't have time to read many books for pleasure - mostly I read them for education (for data engineering/business intelligence).

I love drama movies connected to war and crime. I'm a big fan of Breaking Bad and especially Better Call Saul. I also like The Office - my comfort TV series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I find my career direction change as my biggest achievement. I was forced into studying dentistry by my family, it got me into depression but then I resigned from the university and built my career in data by hard work and good decisions professionally.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can data dump any of my interests, I can give good professional advice for my industry and dunno - cook something? I cook a kickass tonkotsu ramen. :P
