Overview
About Me
My name is Gregory. I just landed on Hawai'i. I'm happy to be here. Currently making as many connections as I can. I am looking for a van to purchase as I'm planning on living here for awhile and personal transportation seems essential.
Over the past few years I have traveled the United States and worked as a beach lifeguard, yoga instructor, and a hand on a co-op organic farm. At the age of 18 I was a Rotary exchange student for 10 months in Bangkok, where I studied Thai language and made a few lasting friends. At age 23 from San Diego I rode buses through Mexico to Costa Rica where I spent 2 months learning to surf. After eleven years I returned to Thailand to learn more about Thai cultural heritage and to visit friends. During my first couple months I stayed mostly in Bangkok extensively studying Reusi DatTon (Thai Yoga), the basics of Muay Thai, and Jazz trumpet.
After a week long visa run to Myanmar I bought a small motorcycle in Chiang Mai. I then traveled to 15 provinces throughout Thailand, mostly is the Northern and Eastern regions meeting Thai families and Buddhist temples that stayed close to the Earth. My old friend from highschool met me in Buriram and we made a weekend trip to Cambodia to see Ankhor Wat before celebrating Song Kran (Thai New Years) festival in Phuket, Thailand in April.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to meet new people, share knowledge and wisdom, and to travel frugally.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I remember preparing filets of a large fish caught by a spear fishing Englishman. We wrapped them in banana leaves with real olive oil, brough from Italy by Italians, and garlic and salt to be cooked on an in ground barbeque engineered by a few Argentinians. That night at the camping hostel in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica we had an international feast filled with joy and surf stories.
