About Me

Hello fellow human! :)
I’m Pip, a free spirit whose intrigue with the human experience feeds my desire to travel. I generally live simply, and in the present moment. I fall more in love with our world through travel and making new friends.
I would describe myself as an extroverted introvert- gregarious and social, but I also love my own company. Back home I work in hospitality, so I am pretty patient... I have a big heart and open mind, and like to throw myself into the unfamiliar and the colourful. I love to learn and explore and to share great experiences with great people.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” ❤️
Looking forward to hearing from ya!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe that to share is a human’s most important mission. Sharing and understanding. I think CS enables us to do this and to learn so much about our world and us humans and I love that. I love hanging out with people who are from the city and seeing how they live. CS is literally the coolest idea ever and this is just the start of my journey with it! I now cannot wait to host some amazing people when I get back now.

Interests

I’m vegan, so I really enjoy cooking and learning to cook veggie dishes from around the world. I also really enjoy reading fiction and non fiction books when I have free time. I don’t practice any sport myself, but I do enjoy hiking, swimming and cycling when I travel and at home. I absolutely love skiing, but hardly ever get to go! I love to write and am trying to get back in the hobby of writing stories, and I am super interested in grassroots culture and all the music that stems from that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- I like so many different styles, I don’t discriminate! I love to hear new genres from around the world, NTS radio in the uk is one of my favourite stations. Some of my favourite artists are Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Bomba Estéreo, Bonobo, Bon Iver, Four Tet, Aphex Twin, Nicolas Jaar, Sticky Fingers, Leanne le Havas, Erikah Badu, The Beatles.... So many! For movies, I love European cinema, I’m a big fan of cult classics, and like to catch the Sundance entries. I love reading books when I can... Right now I’m reading 1984 for the first time, my brain is melting a bit and I love it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Broke into an (old) outdoors Olympic swimming pool after a night of clubbing to watch the sunrise over the city of Barcelona!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you as much English as you like, I’ve studied a bit of TEFL! I’d love to learn about how other people live their lives in different places around the world and to swap stories with them with a beer in hand. I really enjoy cooking an hopefully (when my housemates allow it) I can share with you a comfortable home and a good party whenever you may visit the UK.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will bring a positive energy and some hilarious stories to your household, and hopefully a tasty dish for dinner if you’re willing to try vegetarian cooking?! I’m happy to teach you English if you like! I would love to host people back in the UK once I return home too :)
