About Me

I'm a singer/songwriter (I play cello and a little guitar), and I love playing with other musicians. I love nature, animals, and outdoor activities. I try to go hiking at least once a week, so I know pretty much all the good hiking spots in my area, and would love to show them to visitors. I like art, especially sculpture, mosaics, and photography, and I when I travel, one of my favorite things to do is to climb to the top of towers, tall buildings, or other high places. I am a vegan and a pretty decent cook -- I especially enjoy making vegan cupcakes. I love languages. Besides English, I speak Russian the best, but also I know a little French, Japanese, and Spanish, and I'm always grateful for opportunities to practice speaking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used Couchsurfing to travel and meet people while I was living in Russia. I've taken a break from it since I've moved back to the US, but now that I have more space I'd like to start hosting travelers. I would especially love to host touring bands so I can meet other musicians. My band and I may use Couchsurfing on our own upcoming tours, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Takaosan with my sister in Japan was one of my favorite experiences. It was so peaceful -- there were temples scattered along the mountain, and the plum trees were just starting to bloom. At the top, we ate mochi wrapped in cherry leaves, and on the way down, we got a little lost and ended up in a sunny village full of blossoming trees. It was a lovely day.
