About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discover the Temple of Knossos in Crete and carry 8 steins of beer at Oktoberfest!
ABOUT ME
There I was, a little child, sheltered in loving arms, when my parents passed on the travel bug to me and like Spiderman, I gained backpacking superpowers, such as the ability to sleep outdoors in the starlight and on couches shorter than my height. From a young age I was taken to places far and wide, all over Europe and venturing to Africa and the far side of the Atlantic. When I became older I had to sort out my life and money situation first, but now I'm an unstoppable backpacking machine - I trek around the place so much I have to use an Excel Spreadsheet to keep track of it all! My most extensive trip was a year to Australia taking in SE Asia, Japan, NZ and the United States of A.
PHILOSOPHY
If it's messed up, don't sit there bitching - find a solution. Sometimes you just have to start your life from scratch. Life is an evolution, don't be afraid to let something go if it doesn't fit anymore.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was introduced to CS by Ambassador Therese, my partner in crime. I rent with other people, so I can't host, but I'm a regular fixture at CS parties.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Last time I hosted it was an awesome Canadian couple who were wowed, among other things, by the fact that the largest milk size in Ireland is 2 litres instead of 4!
Interests
I'm a musician and a huge music fan. I play drums and have been in various bands since I was a teenager. Recently I've appeared at CS meets with some of the rest of the guys to play a few songs. I'm always going to gigs too. I'm trying to get into outdoor activities but it's hard to organise anything big! I work in IT and have a lot of things going on the web.
