ABOUT ME
My name's Lizzi and I graduated from Newcastle University in Modern Languages in July 2010. My degree involved French and Spanish language and the history, politics, literature and general culture of France and Spain and a tiny bit of Latin America.
I want to be a French and Spanish teacher (and maybe German too if I can ever master it) in the UK which means I need to study in the UK for one more year.
This year I am living in Chile, working in a university as an English Language Assistant for the British Council. I have three aims for this year: travel, improve my Spanish and gain more experience in teaching.
Travel, languages and people are my three main passions.
I am very inquisitive and usually very happy. I find it hard not to smile. Nevertheless, if I have a problem with something I am very direct!
I love the sea. I've tried surfing but not succeeded yet. I want to stand up before I leave Chile in May 2011.
I played water polo for Newcastle University which was the biggest part of my uni experience, more for the people and the socialising than the actual sport... it's a killer!
My daily aim is to enjoy every day and ask as many questions as possible, striving to learn as much from different people and cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The charity hitch-hike I did from the UK to Morocco was an original experience. People went out of their way to help us get to Morocco and it restored my faith that most of the human race are very, very good eggs.
South America in general is also amazing. I am completely in love with the continent.
