ABOUT ME

I am originally from the beautiful island of ice, gold, and green, JAMAICA. I moved to Brooklyn, NY as an adolescent and I have been living there until my previous move to Abu Dhabi, UAE. To know me is to love me. I have a heart of gold and I would do anything for my friends and loved ones. I'm ambitious, outspoken, outgoing, talkative at times, and silly. I am an educator, lover and seeker of knowledge, and passionate about life and all it has to offer. I consider myself to be very observant-- I like to take everything in and react accordingly. Of course, sometime my impulses get the best of me, but hey, that's life. At this point in my life, I am trying to do and embark on all things that interest me and that makes me happy. You know what, finding TRUE HAPPINESS is my ultimate goal. I do not want life to pass me by, so I want to take in all it has to offer. That's all I can say about me for now. The best way to truly know someone is to KNOW them...Smoochez until next time! :D

PHILOSOPHY

I have a few personal philosophies:
1. Everything happens for a reason. There is a lesson in every experience, good or bad.
2. The world is my oyster.
3. Live your life to the fullest because you never know when your last day will be.
4. Treat people the way you would want to be treated and the universe will reward you accordingly.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time on this website, so I am still figuring things out. I have never couched surfed before, but I am looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, FOOD, perspectives, and ways of life.

Interests

Any and everything! I am always open to new adventures and experiences. I love spoken word poetry, music, dance, art, history, and culture. I believe the world is my oyster and it's up to me to take in all it has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music. I am open to experiencing anything new and different. Some of my favorite music genres include Reggae, Neo-soul, Hip/Hop, R&B, Soca, Pop, Alternative, Soul, Jazz, etc. If I can dance or relax to it, I'm down with it. I try to read for leisure, but it doesn't happen very often because I am always working and reading work related materials. The last books I remember reading were Kindred by Octavia Butler and The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I have been trying to finish reading The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Dubois and Black LIke Me by John Howard Griffin, but I've been too busy and they are thought provoking books that I need to take my time in reading. In terms of movies, I love all genres as well. Movies I've loved include: Taken, Touristas, John Q, Fast and the Furious, Why did I get Married, Crash, Love and Basketball, Salt, District 9, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The architecture in Barcelona- Amazing!
I can really appreciate the respect that Muslims have for their culture. When I hear the call to prayer and I see everyone stop what they are doing to pray, I think that's amazing.
I definitely want to experience more, so I could write more, but that's all I can think of for now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will be able to share my experience thus far as it relates to living in a middle eastern country. I will be able to make my very delicious baked ziti (You haven't had Ziti until you've had mine). I would like to meet new friends and learn and experience another country and lifestyle.
