About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to expand my outlook like a balloon being blown up by a thousand single breaths of different people (shit, where did that come from :-)

ABOUT ME

Ok, here we go. No thinking. G'day all, I'm Brendon. I come from a lovely crisp island off the bottom of Australia, and enjoy fun, friends, and a good laugh. I have just moved to Sydney. And I'm pretty sure you know where that is.
I don't like people who take themselves or life too seriously. I just found out my last name means dick in Swedish. And you know what, that's not a problem.
I love random conversation and thoughts outside the triangle, oh and drunken philosophy.
I like sports and attempting to keep fit.
I entertain myself always. Sometimes others if they're lucky.
Sometimes I have crazy ideas, especially after a few beers, but I have never broken a bone.
Except maybe my toe once.
I really enjoy learning and absorbing new things.
I think punctuation can be sexy ;)
I dont enjoy looking for the @ key on different keyboards. Oh and the overwrite key. Just hate it, guess I just dont understand it.

PHILOSOPHY

Woah, ahhhh. Just live. what's meant to be will happen... there's always someone worse off than you. Now I've decided I need more ambitions, so I'm working on that. What do I REALLY want to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Boldly

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just read my references and skip all this bullshit i have written here.
18 Couches Surfed, mwahah (remember 'The Count' on sesame street?)
Met ambassadors, extroverts, introverts, party peeps, goons, cronies, jugglers,
Pretty much for the actual act of sleeping on a couch i use a eight step technique.
Sober:
1.Lie down and find the most comfortable position on the 2.Kingbed/bed/sofa/couch/bench/seat/straw/floor/ground/rocky ground/inclined rocky ground/nails/magma
3.Close eyes
4.Try not to think
5.Think about Not Thinking
6.Think about Paradoxes
7.Lose conciousness
8.Arise

Not Sober
1a. drink a heap of water
1.Pass out
2.Wake and peel my face off what ever it is sticking to

Interests

Fun times, sports, new music, learning, photography (I dont have a camera, is that a problem?) martial arts, clouds.
This is difficult. I can usually find something in common with most people (ears for instance), but I havent found a true passion as yet. So therefore trying many different things right now!!
Just completed a short documentary film making course. And am a certified Laughter Yoga facilitator (google that)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Lots, but no real standouts, maybe Dumb and Dumber, reminds me of growing up. Most powerful movie would be Requiem For A Dream. Saddest would be The Green Mile.
Obviously the Shawshank Redemption. Even studied that at school AND it's still fantastic

Music: I'd have to show you. indie, rock, a bit of electronic stuff, surf music. Chilled out stuff. Not really punk, emo or metal. some is ok

Books: Shantaram would have to be the most amazing book I've read. There are a couple on my list to read.
Just read 'Independent People' Icelandic tale that won Nobel Prize. Mostly about sheep
Currently reading: Palms

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove from Norway to Mongolia in a Fire-Truck for Charity. Pretty amazing.
Iceland.
Being in a blue natural thermal pool, surrounded by mist and lightly falling rain, serenaded by a 30 piece youth choir giving an impromtu performance in the water. In bathers!! Unforgetable for the other 10 people there I imagine.

Also barbeque with Seoul SWAT team, Cleanest air in the world on the West Coast of Tas, climbing ladders to places off the tourist map. Palio de Siena horse race.
OK-F*ck*NG-TOBERFEST (Lost hearing in my left ear tho) A rhinocerus giving birth (not really but I've imagined this pretty hard so...)
Nephew and niece are quite amazing too :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn what all the herbs and spices taste like, so i can say "hmm, this needs more... (saffron, sage, etc)". I like learning about anything really.
In return I can teach people how to play cricket and aussie rules football, haha. I'm sure I have many other interesting things to pass along too, I do have alot of random facts floating about it the old knoggin. At the moment I'm starting to learn how to palm read. seriously! Kinda. Oh and just quit my job to try and become a documentary film maker!!!
