Peace and Tranquility
ABOUT ME
peaceful
hippie philosophy - basically look after the planet; be freeeeee - oh how I love living in the bush.
accepting ie live and let live, don't whine or whinge
if something needs fixing in my opinion then I do it or find out it is only me lol so leave it, creative, happily married; have to learn something new each day.
I joined after we offered a couch to four guys who had just rolled their car. they were a little shattered thinking the car was a write off but they came and stayed and Peter (ex panel beater or fixer of pretty well anything)fixed their car with their labour ;)

PHILOSOPHY
we both endeavour to follow Buddhist style philosophy but are not religious in anyway.
we work towards peace and harmony in our lives
we are also pro medicinal marijuana (ie legalisation) and decriminalisation; live and let live, compassion, non-judgement. we all do our best and cannot know what it is like for anyone else as we are all unique.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
my husband and I love staying at home so enjoy welcoming travellers to enjoy our couch when travelling through this area. It does make me want to travel again and there is plenty of Australia still to see if we ever get mobile.
Update: it is sometime since I joined and love the chance to meet some wonderful people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have done of lot of couch surfing myself in my travelling days - from exclusive mansions (family friends)to a mattress on the bathroom floor (friend had the bath) LOL
our CouchSurfing experiences have been fantastic and we look forward to meeting more travellers over the years.

Music, Movies, and Books
ALterNative
fav bands are too many - old headbanger (still meditate to metal!)
but love quieter stuff too.
Some music that I like that comes to mind
JBT, Xavier Rudd, Pink, Amy Winehouse [though doubt we will hear much more from her], Michael Franti, Wolfmother, Augie March, Cure, Led Zepplin, Hoodoo Gurus, The Saints + soooo many great bands and then there are all the mixes which I really love. my favourite is a mix of classical and rap .. the result is brilliant. my late [strange term?] cousin's son is Learned Hand [half of Radio Funk Trust].
my favourite book is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman - though I read pretty well anything readoholic - have a library in my home! prefer sci-fi & fantasy plus a good thriller/detective type [brain gone great series with a priest as the super sleuth? CRAFT!! C....]
and my most favourite movie is Local Hero - the story, the music, the scenery.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
survive my chidhood LOLOLOL -
can I pick one thing out of so many! I will try to put some down:
saw the Entombed Warriors when only a couple had been uncovered ('77);
saved a friend from drowning when I was 6;
went to 17 schools; was only 16.25 years when I did Year 12; left home at 16;
got married;
observed Egernias McPheeii(Australian giant skinks) mating in our lounge room!!!!;
saw a double rainbow (the space between the two arcs was solid light grey colour while above and below was clouds ... very amazing - now where was the camera!
living in the bush gives you amazing wonders every day :D
Teach, Learn, Share
we have, over the last two year, suffered from a disease called Morgellons. It was finally recognised (previously people were told they had Delusional Parasitosis). It completely screws your sleep cycle as it is active at night making it very difficult or impossible to sleep thus we tend to be up until 5-6am and sleep till afternoon.
This disease is devastating and if you know of anyone who has skin lesions that will not heal, have trouble sleeping, become moody (prob due to lack of sleep)and more .. symptoms and more info can be found at www.morgellons.org
originally we didn't host but we now know it isn't contagious.
I wanted to mention the Morgellons so that the information can become known to those travelling. It is now worldwide and research funding has been approved in the USA (CDC). those of us who suffer with this have hope for a future. The more people who petition for research and the more who register the stronger the power for a remedy.
I don't wish to scare people at all, my aim is to inform not alarm.
Couchsurfers should have no concern regarding staying here; it isn't like that ...
