Interests

I am a teacher at heart. Right now I teach English as a second language in Thailand. Next I will get a master's degree in education so that I can teach a variety of subjects. I really want to promote better education in Southeast Asia and improve the learning process by studying it.

I love to travel too, and that's why I'm living and teaching abroad. I feel that living abroad has the potential to make you a more worldly person, able to interact, communicate, and understand a larger variety of people. I plan to teach and live in a different country every few years. Next I'm thinking Oman or Brazil.

I like to talk about things that are meaningful to people. I like to talk about things learned, things loved, things hated, goals, dreams, aspirations, purpose, and the many things that connect us and make us human.

I also like my time to relax. I like to read. I like to write. I like to reflect. Sometimes quiet reflection on my own or sometimes with another if they care to do the same.

I believe in taking care of the mind, body, and spirit. I believe in enriching them while living to harmonize them. I believe in learning and teaching. I believe in the natural human inclination to tell stories and to learn from them. And so I really like sharing stories of all sorts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day I was riding through the streets of Chiang Mai, Thailand on my motorbike. The sun beamed. I caught the cool wind. And though I have felt this many times before, it was this one moment that I knew I was enjoying this feeling because I had brought myself here. I set the intentions, I made the choices, I let the actions happen. And now I find myself in a beautiful city and country, independent and free, teaching English, and a year ago I was just graduating from my university and all of this was nothing more than a thought. In that moment I knew. I knew that I could manifest a future that I chose.
