About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To f!@#ing learn to not put my jumper on under my ceiling fan!

ABOUT ME

I had wanted to see as much of the planet before stuff melted. Got a bit sidetracked - living in the UK. Rule Brtiannia.

Otherwise, I dont really know how to describe myself. I'm Ok. I appear popular with immediate family and sales staff.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't live by a personal philosophy.

- or at least if you do, don't be too bloody rigid about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to host people, but my flatmates don't trust you dodgy foreigners! No, they're just not sure about strangers. However, I will meet you and we can wander around London where I will recite British history from podcasts I have listened to (it only went as far as the Norman invasion, so unless it's a really old tesco, there will be gaps).

Interests

Music, cycling, pedal steel guitars (can't play them very well/not at all), little bit of surfing and space (the cosmological sort).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Arcade Fire, The National, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Joanna Newsom, The Smiths, Ryan Adams, etc.

Books: All sorts; non fiction, Catcher in the Rye, Dostoevsky, Nabakov (Russians in general), Murakami, etc.

Movies: Lost in Translation; the life aquatic, the castle, etc (can probably stop writing etc).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a shark eating another shark whilst surfing. More terrifying than amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm willing to teach anyone my atrocious beginner level Maori. I'll throw in the words to the Haka and matching dance movements (not sure if studying Maori when I was seven allows me to shamelessly rip off their culture for the sake of getting a couch).

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Fiji, France, Guam, Norway, Peru, Russian Federation, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Guam, United States
