About Me
I am from Michigan and a proud University of Michigan alum - Go Blue! I studied Communication Studies and Spanish and have been working as a nanny and a barista.
I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and went to university in Chicago before transferring to UMich. I hope to move to Nashville when I get back from this wonderful trip around South America!
I've travelled around the United States, gone on cruises in the Caribbean, and have visited Mexico, France, England, Samoa, and New Zealand. When I was 18 I did a solo trip to Samoa for two and a half months and stayed with my father and his family. It was during this time that I went to New Zealand for a few weeks and met many family members for the first time! I'm very independent, adaptable, and open to new experiences!
January 2015 through June 2015 I will be traveling around South America. I'm starting in Colombia and then moving along to Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. I'm looking forward to meeting new people, trying new food, making new memories, and more!
Five things I can't live without: mashed potatoes, wine, boating in the summer , Law & Order SVU, and board games! Feel free to ask me anything. Looking forward to talking to you more and hopefully meeting you for a visit some time soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm about to start my five month trip around South America on Jan. 20 and I was just reminded of the wonderful ways of Couch Surfing! I'm doing this trip on a budget so I would like to balance out couch surfing, hostels, volunteer experiences, and possibly some AirBnBs. When I return to the States in early June, I'll be going back to Michigan but shortly after will be moving to Nashville, Tennessee and would love to be a host to give back to the community that (hopefully) will have taken me in!
I also would love to experience the cities like a local would, as opposed to a tourist. I really want to experience the authentic culture!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Samoa to live with my dad and that whole side of my family after only meeting him once, a year before, for two weeks.
Traveling around South America by myself.
Live at my cabin with my family on our private lake a week-10 days each summer with no electricity, plumbing, access to anything less than 40 minutes away.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to bake, I am also a good helper around the house and with kids (I've been a nanny for the past year and a half). I love just chilling and hanging out, drinking a good beer or glass of wine or two, and I'm pretty much open to any and all activities!
