ABOUT ME

I grew up playing in fields and streams, skiing, biking and running. I love chatting, reading, Ultimate frisbee, disc golf, and playing in the ocean (not at the same time). Other loves are coffee, wine, and beer, kickin' it on the beach until sundown, staying up late and getting up early. I work with elementary school kids. I taught all grades 1-8 and had a group of students from third to sixth grade that I graduated in June 2012 at a Waldorf charter school (six years together for most of them!)

I have a place in Santa Cruz, CA and now I want to go see the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had numerous people come through and enjoyed it all.
I had one couple from England staying at my place. Traded houses with a nice couple in Mass. House-sat in Monterey for 9 months. Had two different couples from Germany stay here, some from France etc. What a great world!

Interests

The ocean, reading, and writing, fun, beer and wine, hanging out and talking about love and life and the sparks that make us fly mightily. I love throwing the disc (Frisbee) in all manners, especially disc golf.
Burning Man is my passion. I have gone seven years in a row and I am currently holding a ticket for my 8th year.

Current Music: Feist, Thievery Corp, Metric, Silent Comedy, Red Light District, Mason Jennings, Hem, Springsteen, Greg Brown, NOW Emmylou!. Books: "On The Road," by Keroac, "127 Hours," and "Will in the World." Movies: Caddy Shack, Sexy Beast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught a group of students for six years and graduated a family of young adults!

Broke both legs on roller coaster and later ran the Boston Marathon three times.

Spinal surgery fusing my sacrum and L5, and walked a mile on Asilmoar Beach the first day out of the hospital.

Did my first Burn 2012! This year will be #8.

Teach, Learn, Share

The children have everything we need to learn. Teaching them is learning about yourself: patience, love and humilty with some cojones, too!
