Interests

I love to watch movies! I love to watch movies so much I figured I'd dig myself into a massive pile of debt to learn how to make them. I like to read, write, bike, hike, surf, camp, drink good craft beers, wine, vagabonding, listening to music and occasionally making really terrible yet valiant efforts at playing it too. I love short walks on the beach. The Internet seems to have strong grip on me. I sometimes fall into retarted spells where I find myself just clicking through different sites for multiple hours the same way a tv junkie can't settle on one channel. It's really quite disturbing, but can be very informative.. on a dysfunctional level of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any film directed by; Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrick, David O. Russel, Charlie Kaufman, Spike Jonze, Steven Soderbergh, Terrence Malick, David Lynch, Cameron Crowe, Danny Boyle, Darren Aronofsky, Ang Lee, Julian Schnabel, Milos Forman, Richard Linklater, Werner Herzog, Paul Thomas Anderson, Gus Van Sant. I am a documentary junkie, too many to name here.

Music ranges from Portishead to Kings of Leon, Tool and Pearl Jam are the greatest living rock bands to emerge from the 90's. John Frusciante is a rock guitar god who also happens to have a pretty impressive solo career to boot. I love the New Age mood music and any hip-hop from the early 90's. Mongolian Chant is always a hoot. Movie soundtracks, Regina Spektor, Michigan native Seth Bernard, The Beatles, Beirut, Betty Rats, The Congos, Toots & the Maytals, The Congos, The Flaming Lips, The Mars Volta, King Crimson, The Libertines, The Strokes, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Shins, Sigur Ros, Steel Pulse, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens, Syd Barrett, Arctic Monkeys, Edward Sharpe.

I tend to lean toward non-fiction when it comes to reading. C.G. Jung, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Politics, Health and Wellness, Pop culture, Culture, Anthropology, Current Events.
