About Me

CURRENT MISSION

While I'm in Tokyo from November 6-10 I'd like to meet some folks who want to sleep less than recommended, eat more than advisable, and travel to every corner of the city plus a trip to the countryside.

ABOUT ME

Currently living in Yunnan, China. I've been here researching plants for the last 8 months or so. I'd have opened my doors earlier but various circumstances made that difficult to do so. Namely other visitors and my frequent trips into the wilds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up today because I bought my ticket home from China back to the US via Tokyo. When I resettle back in the States, my couch will open to all those other friends on the road and in need of a place to rest.

Interests

Avid frisbee player, mountain biker, motivated by human interaction, plants and gardening. I like to cook, love to speak Chinese, French, Spanish, and English. I enjoy a cold beer on a hot day, a loud concert in a club, a sweaty dance floor. I made an enormous paper crane once and put it in a bonfire and we all watched it ascend into the sky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Why should I write in this section about some incredible experience hiking up a mountain, watching an old man tend to his chrysanthamums or orchids, stand next to one of the two undamed rivers in China? I've been so lucky to all of these things and most have you done equally as incredible ones too. Who has done a more ridiculous "thing," a more adventurous adventure? It doesn't matter to me, but what often leaves the biggest impression on me is drinking a cup of tea and listening to music and having a nice time chatting with a friend as the sun is going down. That or ice skating on a frozen lake with my family.
