ABOUT ME

Hi, I´m a nice guy who loves to travel and meet people and making new friends. Travelling is also my job, I work as a tour guide for a German company that offer hiking holidays.
I enjoy being in good company. Either for city trips or hiking adventures or just for enjoying the time spending with other people.
Spending time with other people is great but I can also care for myself and sometimes like to do things on my own. I love sitting somewhere in a town and just listening to the sounds around me, watching people passing by and stroll around just following my nose.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It took a while to make some experiences. Mostly because I´m touring around for my job, so then I don´t need a couch very often and on the other hand can´t host during that time.

The first experiences were not amazing I admit: either people didn´t answer at all, couldn´t host me or the reply came when I was already back at home.

My first nights on a "couch" then finally were in Morocco in a little village next to a desert, with lovely, friendly and openminded "Berber" People. (For you in Hassi Labied: I´m sorry, I forgot how you call yourself). A perfect really first experience.

Working in tourism my mind is always full of organized tours and I always have the feeling that staying in hotels you never reach the people really living in this area. It just this "taking a beautiful scenery, give me nice sunny days but don´t bother me with a real living in this country"-Feeling. At the beginning I liked it also this way. But I want to learn from the people, who live there, stay with them and share memories afterwards. Couches instead of hotel beds, people instead of tourism shiny paper magazines.

I like to learn from each other. Show respect and expect that also for me. You must accept that I am a gay man.

Interests

wow, a lot: hiking, biking, camping, listening to music, going out, sharing time together on a couch, reading, writing cards, watching museums, going to the cinema; most of all meeting friends; dancing

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books from the travel author A.E.Johann, especially the ones which deal about Canada. Travelling books are my favourite. My favourite singer is the German Reinhard Mey, in France known as Frederic Mey. But I have a wide range af music I love. I don´t even have to understand the language, just if someone´s voice is touching my senses, that´s great. I have CDs from artists from South Africa as well as Iceland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hiking on Thassos island, Greece, we had sunshine but few clouds. all of a sudden it rained just above us while around us the sun was still shining. The rain was just like silver dripping on us. Amazing! I loved to get wet at that moment.

And, just recently, travelled the world. One year, alone. Good experience. Not easy but I had a dream that I followed.

Teach, Learn, Share

In July 2016 I started a trip around the world. I allowed myself a year off my daily life.
I wanted to see a little bit of the world.
I wanted to make new friends.
I wanted to learn new things.
I wanted to try new hobbies.
I wanted to help whenever it´s possible.

Talking about life, give you a City walk, going out together (or cooking together), making travel plans.
Giving you nature walks. Be your hiking guide if you like to explore my region on foot. Go out dancing with you. I love ballroom dances.

What I Can Share with Hosts

And what I am looking for here: nice people to meet. To talk together, to laugh together, to stroll around together, to share a hobby together. Someone who shows me where he lives, tells me about his family / his town / his country. Someone who shows me to dive, to dance, to play harmonica, to ride, to plant a tree, to herd some cows, to run an ecofriendly hostel, to kayak. Maybe I continue my list later…….
