About Me

My aim is to travel, to explore, to find that little bit of adventure in all that i do.

I love the outdoors and spend as much time as i can in the mountains or the sea, whether at home or abroad.

I spent a few years intermittently living out of my backpack but am settled back in the north of Scotland now with my young family. I am always happy to catch up with some fellow vagabonds for some travel chat when possible, so please get in touch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet up, surf, host, or just catch up for a coffee or beer. Its great to just share some stories and experiences.

I have been lucky enough to have some great surfing experiences while away travelling myself. Id love to try and give the same to anyone traveling here in Scotland, even if its just tips on what to do and where to go. It's about trying to give back what you take out.

Music, Movies, and Books

A little bit of everything really, I love a good indie film, or something with a bit of adventure.

As far as books go, my go to choices are anything by Hunter S. Thompson or something travel or mountain expedition orientated.

Music: Bob Dylan, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Django Django and Ryan Adams to name but a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled overland from Scotland to Vietnam in 2010 via the Trans-Siberian railway, a truly unforgettable, amazing experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Loads of local knowledge. My foreign exploits may be somewhat curtailed by my family responsibilities, but I still love to explore and have a little adventure when possible. There are loads of wee nooks and crannies, where you will find Scotland's true gems.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Cambodia, Chile, China, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, Peru, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
