About Me

Its been a while since I’ve been able to host, and I can’t believe I’ve been on CS for 10 years now!

I work in international education, so every once in a while I have a couple months entirely free from work!
I’ve facilitated educational programs in Morocco, Ghana, Thailand, Cambodia, ecuador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, India, South Africa, and Ukraine

Before this career I worked in youth development in Portland, Oregon and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine.

I grew up on an island near Seattle called Vashon. It’s was a great, hippie upbringing. I went to the university of Oregon for undergrad and Middlebury for graduate school.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Get to know other great travelers! I love surfing and hosting equally. CS has provided some incredible experiences in my life, I’m very grateful for everything that it has done.

Music, Movies, and Books

These days I mostly listen to podcasts

I don’t think I have a favorite anything... but I love watching movies. Every year I try and watch every movie up for best picture and then am overly critical of it. My favorite film this year was Three Billboards. Whenever I go to a country I try and watch a couple movies from there.

I read a lot. These days I’m trying to read everything that Brene Brown has written and Lord of the Rings. I’m usually always reading one fiction and non-fiction book. I’d like to say that this is only because I’m such an avid reader, but it’s also because for work reasons that I’m reading so much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve ridden a camel through a desert
10 day vipassana retreat (silent meditation)
