About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Open a microbrewery and improve my beer brewing skills

ABOUT ME

I'm 27 years old and I live in Montreal since 2008. I've travelled a lot across Quebec, Canada and the world. I brew my own beer with two good friends of mine. It tastes great! If you couchsurf at my place you'll have the chance to taste some!

I love history, especially social and political history from 60's-70's Quebec.

I pretty simple to hang out with, not that complicated. Normally when I'm not doing my history stuff, I read stuff about beer, I ride my bicycle, I'm planing a little road trip (or bus trip, or bike trip) somewhere.

Apart from that, I enjoy GoT...cooking...good movie nights...being on the countryside near a lake...ya know that kinda thing!

PHILOSOPHY

Treat other people like you wanna be treated. Welcome other people like you wanna be welcomed.

Be true.

Smile.

Be curious and ask questions. Don't take everything for cash money.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Staying in hotels when you travel is the best way to miss the essential of a country and of the local life. Couch surfing does not only provide a free couch for a couple of night, it gives the opportunity to really learn about how people live in other places of the world. If travellers come at my place, I'll show them the real city of Montreal and I'll try to make them learn about Québec's culture and way of living. That's travelling. You have to immerge yourself in another culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled around Europe for 4 months in 2008 and I only used Couchsurfing. It was a great experience (and I saved a lot of money!) People were great and very welcoming.

Same thing happened in 2012 when I did a student exchange in Glasgow, Scotland!

I hosted a few people at my place too. They were all great and I always had a good experience.

Interests

Reading, cooking, walking randomly in the city with music in my ears, brewing beer, going to beer festivals (there are a lot in Quebec), history stuff, listening at union leaders speeches on Youtube.

I'm fascinated by history and by everything that touches identity issues, political issues and differences between traditions of different people y'know.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Miasaki, GoT (I know it's a serie). Quebec's cinema (Michel Brault, Denis Arcand, Pierre Perreault, Robert Morin), Alejandro Jodorovski. And so on.

Music: Classic and psychedelic rock from the 60s and 70s, electronic music, folk, blues, jazz

Books: history books, novels, poetry (I strongly recommend Quebec's poets Gaston Miron and Claude Gauvreau)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm...being at the top of a huge cliff in Aran Islands, Ireland.
Teaching in a high school, too, was a pretty disconcerting experience, as well as being a summer camp councelor..
