As William Burroughs once said, ‘when you stop growing, you start dying’. With that motto in my mind, I’m always looking to grow, to explore, and learn, more and more each day. Trying to take the best of situations, looking for the small and simple things of life. Optimistic, nature lover, amateur photographer, I believe to be an easygoing guy from Rio de Janeiro always willing to meet new people, new cultures and new places.

I found extremely hard to fill this section, however, I had great pleasure in filling the others. I believe that though that I could tell a bit more about myself, and what to expect from me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is a great passion of mine, and I always try to find out as much as I can about my destination. I prefer to stay longer in one place, than few days in several places. Getting more time to know somewhere and discover the hidden places and local festivities with local tips are what excites me the most when traveling. I consider travelling one of the most valuable and definitely the most thrilling thing in my life, and what best to do with great things in your life than to share them with new people?

Interests

Always looking for experiencing new things and exploring the world, so many different things interest me in different manners. However, a few things remain the same. As you can read bellow, music, movies and books are a great part of my life, as well as photography. I am utterly captivated by the different forms for me to express myself and to see how the other expresses themselves, so arts are always an interest. Besides that I am a nature-person, going on hikes, to the beach, waterfalls are a moment of relaxation, peace and calm.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am deeply passionate about music, movies and books. I am always open for new recommendations and new styles in all of those categories. Regarding music, I love to go to concerts and meet new artists all the time, the hidden jams of music. I’m a vinyl collector, very proud of my small and simple collection. Among my favorite bands I could name Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Red Hot, Pearl Jam, Iron & Wine, Alabama Shakes, The Killers, Foals, Sublime, Wilco & many others. Going to the theater is an activity that I always enjoy, even when I’m alone. I am always waiting for October in Rio for the Rio International Film Festival for films marathon. A few of my favorite directors are Kubrick, Tarantino, Almodovar, Woody Allen, Scorcese, Cronenberg and Linklater. Since I was a child I always nurtured the habit of reading from Harry Potter to Victor Hugo. Fond of novels, my favorite genre is dystopian novels and mystery. Lately I have been mesmerized reading a lot author’s from the Beat Generation . Whenever I travel to a new place I try to find local bands, movies and books. Always open for recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After 11hrs, 22km, more than half in the snow, and 2,300ft high, the trail of the Troll's tongue was done. One of the greatest adventures of my life and definitely one of the hardest as well was the hiking to Trolltunga, in Norway. Stand on top of the rock with the wind so strong that it was even hard to stay stand, makes you realize, admiring the immensity of the valley, the power of nature. It was an once in a life time adventure, hiking through snow, rocks, lakes along the coast of the mountains to reach such destination. This is deffinately a memory that I will cherish for life!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always open to learn new things. I'd love to learn that local tip from that unknown concert to go, or which hike to do, or any other things that are not easily found on the internet or major travel guides. I could teach a bit about that in Rio, which is huge and has so many options, that even though I was born and raised here, there is always something new to learn every day. Always keen on sharing travel stories and other adventures.
