About Me

I want to go places and see things that people always told me not to. I have a weakness for animals of all shapes and sizes and spicy food. You can usually find me with a book and/or headphones blaring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started Couchsurfing in March 2014 on a trip to Mexico. I also used it during a eurotrip throughout Spain, France, and Germany, as well as in Morocco. I've never had a chance to host, but I've gained many friends and new perspectives on life from being hosted. Hopefully one day I'll have the chance to return the favor to some wandering soul. I think most people can relate to my reason for being here, which is to meet and have conversations with as many new and interesting people as possible. CS is a great testament to the fact that despite all that is going on in this crazy world, we're still willing to trust in one another.

Interests

Music, books, mysterious places, street art, music, animals, nature, politics, anthropology, languages, relics, architecture, philosophy, cinema, music, extreme sports, motorcycles, probably music, and do I have to mention travelling?

Music, Movies, and Books

Just to highlight:

Books: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Labyrinth of Solitude, Crime and Punishment, 1984, any Soviet literature
Music: Trip-hop like Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky; old school rap and hip-hop but also classical like Chopin, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, Debussy, Beethoven; opera; bossa nova; cumbia; punk (just a clusterfuck)
Movies: American History X, The Believer, Everything is Illuminated, Y Tu Mama Tambien, La Grande Bellezza, Leon, Run Lola Run, Trainspotting, The Departed, Clerks, Fight Club, Memento, Godfather trilogy, Darren Aronofsky, Almodovar, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Andersen, pretty much any neosrealist Italian film

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to pretend that all my feats are amazing-ish, but this summer I took a road trip across Costa Rica with my good friend and it is undoubtedly one of my most action-packed and sleepless memories. One other thing I'm pretty proud of doing is having quit my first real job out of college after three months and moved to Mexico City with just a backpack. I ended up living in some storage unit on a rooftop with furniture made out plastic crates for a few months, but it was worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Stay hungry, stay foolish.

I am still learning how to not have expectations and just enjoy things as they come.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some secret family recipes with you, teach you to play scopa, and talk about music, movies, or political theory for a very long time.
