Howdy-Hola!

Interested in hosting some surfing travelers willing to maybe do a little work in exchange for staying aboard a 50' Polynesian Sailing Catamaran floating atop a beautiful, tropical river/lake on the Caribbean side of Guatemala (currently in Rio Dulce).

Aboard Poco A Poco, are nearly square, queen-sized accommodation for easy-going, mature singles and couples with kitchen facilities that may, depending on the day and energy, produce tropically tasty meals of local, fresh food stuffs.

In return for such an awesome water-bed/couch it would be great to get a helping-hand with getting Poco A Poco ready for her next adventure.

Nothing too involved time-wise, and depending on the tasks being tackled at the time, maybe a little cleaning/organizing/cooking/assisting in boat construction... unless of course your into what this project is about and would like to get involved in Poco A Poco's mission. In this case we would happily discuss what that involvement might entail and workout an equitable arrangement.

The immediate goal(April/May 2011) is to prepare Poco A Poco for hauling out on land (probably at a small village along the lake shore) and subsequent re-fitting/finishing.

Beyond that, there would be a need for perhaps a longer term couch surfer(s)/caretaker(s) to stay with Poco A Poco, keeping her clean and tidy for a few months while the owner returns home to work and solicit more assistance for the project.

The overall goal is to finish Poco A Poco and make her into a safe, blue water sailor, then guide her around the planet, visiting remote and less-developed coastal communities to provide whatever asked-for-assistance that is within her and her crews capacity to provide... Basically, Poco A Poco and her crew want to conscientiously travel the globe sharing and helping out in any meaningful way they can. The first task though, is to get her ready for such an endeavor.

If you would like to come aboard, stay a couple nights or maybe longer and be apart of the adventure, it would be great to hear from you...
