ABOUT ME

David-hard working "country man" at heart, fun lover of Outdoor Activities such as camping, bushwalking, water skiing, kayaking, 4 WD treks!Sherri-married to David for 27 years, enjoys similar pursuits, travelled extensively throughout Australia-Outback, Ayers Rock, Kakadu,Simpson Desert, Bungle Bungles,Broome and many other spots!We're young at heart and love our Riverviews from our verandah and cruising on our small pontoon boat!

PHILOSOPHY

We believe in working hard and have always valued strong work ethics,however we love socialising with friends and enjoy making new friends, whatever their age!We appreciate nice things but believe people matter the most. We like to experience new places and have loved exploring our vast country-we're ready to explore new places now!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are new members to couchsurfing and thought we'd give it a go! We have many "Australian experiences" we can share with others and are interested in broadening our horizons overseas to other countries!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is new to us but we have travelled to New Zealand, China, Canada and USA. We have always loved meeting "real local people" and enjoyed outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, horse riding,boat trips etc.

Intereses

Now our two children have ventured into the world with their own careers and study pursuits, we figure it's time for us to "get out and about"! We are particularly interested in learning about local agriculture and industries,and perhaps seeing a school or two. We enjoy wining and dining and soaking up local, cultural atmoshpheres!

Música, películas y libros

We enjoy a wide range of music from classics like the Beatles, Cat Stevens,Van Morrison, the Eagles, to more modern music like U2,Pete Murray and of course we have listened to lots of loud Linkin Park and doof doof music when our teenage son is home! Sherri loves reading all sorts of mysteries, historical etc like Diana Gribaldi, Stephanie Meyer, Nora Roberts series-both enjoy others like John Grisham, Bourne series etc.

David-half Dome climb in Yosemite, Frenchman's Cap and Cradle Mountain walks(Tasmania), Both of us- Ayers Rock climb and King's Canyon, also doing a heli-hike on Fox Glacier in New Zealand- amazing helcopter ride and landing followed by a "hike down"-just us and the guide, scary but exhilerating!

We have a great deal of experience in travelling through Australia's outback/country areas and camping.Preparation is always the key!David has also a great deal of knowledge about Australian agriculture-has been a wheat/sheep farmer and government advisor in horticulture, viticulture.
