About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting together enough money to drive to India by bike

ABOUT ME

I study Biotechnology in Heidelberg(Germany) and I just came back from a year off, traveling (by bike to India) and studying abroad (in Spain). Before that I did my social service working with disabled children and traveled Latin America for 8 months. I'm always curious to learn new things and get impressions of other cultures, people and of course, food.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem
"La voyage forme la jeunesse - et les adultes"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past 12 months the Couchsurfing project turned into a direction i can't support anymore. Hundreds of volunteers who supported the website for years with different skills were not part of the decision when Couchsurfing became a company. Now Couchsurfing has sold their soul to some investors, the Terms of Use are worse then the ones from facebook. I am not against professionalization and a big fan of creating jobs - but not that way. Thanks to this website i've met tons of good and interesting people, many of them i can call good friends today. But it's for sure that the so called couchsurfing spirit will disappear sooner or later. And that's really sad. Move your profile to other networks such as BeWelcome, warmshowers (for cyclists) or TrustRoots (for hitchhikers).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed 2 several times, especially on my bike trip to India and hosted people twice, which were all magnificent experiences!
And actually now on my Erasmus, most of my friends are Couchsurfers.

Interests

All kind of sports: Rock climbing, Mountainbiking, water sports, being outdoor (camping, hiking, mountaineering), travelling, hitchhiking, cooking and eating, celebrating, learning new things (languages), singing to the guitar at a bondfire...
