About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn from the people I am destined to meet!

ABOUT ME

I am open-minded but idealistic. Although I have a tendency to be "popular" in the long run, I am basically a shy person and introverted. I like keeping a small but intimate circle of friends ... I like to party sometimes, but not too hard that I feel awful the next day. Never ask me a favor when I am tired. Never ask me to go anywhere without taking a rest or shower. I like to spoil people I like, but im expecting the same treatment also. I like honesty, if you need anything never hesitate to ask me, I will always have an answer for you.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything Happens for a Reason! I think that's self-explanatory.

Take everything in moderation .... including moderation !!!

Always look for the good things in everything. and PAY IT FORWARD .....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am doing the hosting along with my bestfriend Andres (http://www.couchsurfing.com/people/oso1986 ) , and we hosts people in our home.

I had spearheaded a couchsurfing Costa Rica project called Couchsurfing Costa Rica Gives Back, which is to help the underpriviledged children in the Terraba Indigenous Reserve in Buenos Aires de Puntarenas in the southern part of Costa Rica. This is the link to that Pilot Project:

I am also fairly active in various meetings and gatherings around Couchsurfing in Costa Rica. And it is imperative that if I am hosting somebody, my guest will be going with me in these gatherings. It is great to meet other couchsurfers and their guests here in Costa Rica. I find the couchsurfers here in CR are responsible, but fun-loving people as well !!!

Probably the most memorable of these Couchsurfing hanging-outs would be with Artie (USA), wherein after a fun drinking session is Heredia, we got MUGGED!!!!! It was sooooo stupid but now it is soooo hilarious!!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Even before the existence of Couch surfing, I had been hosting some friends already. My first experience was my friend, Henri, from Finland, when he visited me in The Philippines. But the most prominent would be opening my doors to my friend Andres, who stayed in my house for almost a year in The Philippines. This was a real big one, because now I live in his house, with his family, in Costa Rica! Hosting changed my life and got me new adventures !!! So I know this project has endless potential!

My first taste of the essence of this project. Malte from Germany spent a few days in my house, along with Gillaume from France. After that, we had hosted, and became friends, with a lot more people from all over the world. And I will continue to do it!

COUCHSURFING is such a great experience, and it was one of the most interesting things i got involved with since I learned a lot about the places i had only dreamt of traveling.

I hosted:

Rachelle (The Philippines)
Malte (Germany)

Movies I like are The Departed, Babylon, Moulin Rouge, Schindler's List, The Wedding Singer, Zoolander, Jackass movies, Stigmata, Never Been Kissed, Can't Hardly Wait, Behind Enemy Lines, Heaven and Earth, Zodiac, Tears of the Sun, Karate Kid 2, Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2, Hotel Rwanda, Sometimes in April and lots of comedies.

Music depends on my mood .....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For some reason I am amazed of the Rail System of different countries. Especially that of Madrid and Tokyo.

I have done a few commercials already in costa rica. i was in this game show in the Philippines called " The Weakest Link". Well, I was voted off near the end!

Another outrageous thing we did is that I, couchsurfer James, and the CS I was hosting Miguel, crossed a fairly high railroad bridge, which has planks that creak and the distance between planks are a little too far from each other. We had to hop from one loose plank to another, calculating every jump to make sure we dont fall to the fast traffis underneath and get rolled over to death, while a commuter train is blowing its horn, approaching us fast. It was a rush ...

I have appeared on TV countless times already. I kinda miss it ....

Teach, Learn, Share

When I have time, I think it is nice to learn new and interesting things about other countries ....

Belgium, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Switzerland, Vatican City State
