ABOUT ME

Being random at times and enjoying the randomness!
Spending quality time with friends is one of the essentials in life! I like to explore, being active and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

"I like rice. Rice is great if you're hungry and want 2000 of something" ~ Mitch Hedberg

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama:
"True happiness comes from having a sense of inner peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved by cultivating altruism, love and compassion, and by eliminating anger, selfishness and greed.
Hatred, jealousy and excessive attachment cause suffering and agitation. I feel compassion can help us overcome these disturbances and let us return to a calm state of mind. Compassion is not just being kind to your friend. That involves attachment because it is based on expectation. Compassion is when you do something good without any expectations – based on realizing that “the other person is also just like me”."

"The compassionate mind is very important. Fear, anger, jealousy are based on a self-centered attitude. By developing a sense of caring for others' well-being your heart automatically opens and that brings transparency, straightforwardness and honesty, which leads to friendship. We are social animals, and one individual's survival relies entirely on the rest of the community."
- the 14th Dalai Lama

"There is no greatness without a passion to be great, whether it's the aspiration of an athlete or an artist, a scientist, a parent, or a businessperson."
— Anthony Robbins

"Love. Fall in love and stay in love. Write only what you love, and love what you write. The key word is love. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for."
— Ray Bradbury

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am relatively new here so... I am just getting started to savour the ultimate CouchSurfing Experience!! So far so good :)

I have couch surfed once this year in Milan, and I hosted a few people over the past year at my little place in London.

I have been meeting some cool and lovely people at CS meetings in London, and some of them have become good friends of mine!! :)

Interests

Swing dancing, distance running, cooking, music, photography

Swing dancing - I have fallen utterly in LOVE with swing dancing! At the moment, I am learning some lindy hop, balboa and charleston, there is stil much to learn but I am hungry to get better. When I dance, my heart feels like it is flying!

Running - It all started with a 15 min jog, then a 5 K run, then it became 10 K, 15K, half marathon... and recently a full marathon... Running is pretty addictive!
The following is a love letter that I quote from Emily Faherty which describes my feelings for running:

"Dear Running,

Whether it's at dawn or at dusk, I look forward to our dates (for the most part)... especially when you take me to places I've never seen before. You're the first thing I think about it in the morning and the last thing I think about at night. And I love that you love that I love carbs. I hope you're ready to make this big commitment, too. (Should we make it Facebook official?) I have a feeling we're in this for the long haul.

xoxo,
Emily"

Food and cooking - I love cooking for my friends and seeing their happy and contented faces after eating the food I prepared. In other words, my friends are also my lab kitchen mice to test my cooking muahahahahahah!

Music - I absolutely adore music... it's something I cannot imagine my life without it. I listen to different types of music according to my mood and feeling that moment. The diversity can range from Handel's arias, rock, and (shockingly!!) cheesy Chinese pop music to Fabric live recordings. Recently, I fell in love with the music from a DJ called Bonobo!

Photography - through photography, I could explore and express my feelings. I don't have a super posh camera... all I am doing at the moment is with my creativity. These are the links to my somewhat primitive portfolio:
