About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am Dave and my current goal is to spread love, truth, and understanding to people around the world through music.

ABOUT ME

I am a 23 year old recent college graduate who is looking for more in life than just a salaried job and meal on my plate. I love people and making connections. Being a bartender at a catering is a perfect job for me because I get to interact with people of all sorts, and speak the universal language of alcohol. After living in New Jersey for 18 years, I took a scholarship at the University of Central Florida and upon completion have decided to stick around and see what kind of opportunities may come my way. I've held many jobs in the past including working at a radio station, being a "Scareactor" at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, and working at an Events company in downtown Orlando. I am more of a person who likes to attain great experiences, rather than compile material objects. I love music, I can talk about it for hours and play it forever ( currently play guitar, bass, banjo, and piano). I like to write songs, and sometimes just make up songs about whatever is going on at the moment just for a laugh.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep opening doors and searching. The more experiences you have the more opportunities you will have to live, learn and prosper. Be accepting of people, and don't put up too many walls or you will become too sheltered.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have never done couch surfing, but in my home, my roommates and I love having people around to share our kindness and adventurous personalities. We are very respectful of other cultures and lifestyles.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only Couchsurfed on friends couches after a night on the town or by staying with family and friends in different states in the US. I've been to California, New Mexico, Texas, New York City, and Oregon just by contacting friends. They let me stay, I'll cook for them and clean dishes, buy them beer, and just be gracious and friendly.I love travelling around the USA but I would love the opportunity to go to a different country because in my 23 years of living, I never have.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen and done many amazing things. One amazing thing I've done is helped save a man's life in a grocery store in Orlando. While shopping in the dairy section, I witnessed an older man have a seizure and fall and hit his head on the ground. He was still shaking and bleeding , and I remembered that I saw EMT's which are medics at the front of the store buying food. I ran and grabbed them and they started to help the man. In a few minutes, the EMT's closed off the main street leading into the store and had a helicopter come and airlift the man to a hospital. I could not follow up to see if he made it through or not because I didn't know his name, but I was glad to have been able to act in a dire situation.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play a song on guitar. I can teach you how to improvise singing and not be afraid to do so in front of other people. I have cooking skills that I can pass on, for instance I love making crepes with fruit and Nutella. At our house, we can teach you how garden and grow fruit trees and sugar cane and cacti. I would like to learn even one basic nice phrase in another language.
