About Me
CURRENT MISSION
On a mission to meet new people and have good times :)
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that the most important thing in life is to be happy. If I had fame and fortune, but I was unhappy, I would give it all up to be truly happy. I always try to make the most of every day - I love adventure and fun, and I also enjoy meeting people and talking :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have hosted a few people and have been hosted!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Within the first week of signing up I was hosting a guest. It's cool - I love it!
I've also met people online in a couple of different countries.
I met them both on Skype whilst on SkypeMe mode (why did they remove that!?). One was my good friend from Poland and I went over to meet her in the Open'er music festival, then again later that year to go to Prague with her. My other friend is from Moscow and I went over there in February 2010 to meet her. They were some of the best holidays I've ever had - I now realise how much better going to meet and hang out with somebody local to the area is, you get so much more out of it.
I've met loads of other people in the same way and been invited over many times, so I'm still actively having fun meeting people like that. I also have a couple of people coming over to visit this year. One of them told me about this network and I signed up immediately - I can't believe I didn't find it sooner!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Rum Diary, On the Road, The Master and Margarita, The Catcher in the Rye, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Discworld, A Clockwork Orange, A Brave New World, A Scanner Darkly, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Films: all sorts, Stanley Kubrick, Terry Gilliam, David Lynch, Jim Jarmusch are all amazing. I've recently watched "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" and "The Darjeeling Limited" which I loved! Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, Oldboy, Dead Man, City of God, Requiem for a Dream, Leon, Sin City, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Grudge, The Ring / Ringu, Napoleon Dynamite, Scott Pilgrim Versus the World...
Music: seriously, too much to list. I am a music fanatic - I'm always listening to music (including right now - LCD Soundsystem if you're interested). I like pretty much anything, as long as it's good and I love going to concerts and festivals. Oh here's an idea... if you are that interested that you can spare a click of a mouse, why not have a look at my Last.fm profile? http://www.last.fm/user/polaris64
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmm, difficult to choose...
When I was in Germany, I saw Radiohead at a music festival. During the performance of their new stuff (from In Rainbows) there was a huge thunderstorm. We didn't hear it until it was right overhead because they were so loud, but then there was a huge flash of lightning nearby and a earth shaking rumble. I don't know if they planned it, but it went perfectly with what they were playing! But that's not all... as the storm passed and the sun came out again, we saw a rainbow over the stage. Radiohead, playing In Rainbows, in a rainbow...
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning, so I have all sorts of random pieces of knowledge. I'm a website designer and computer programmer mainly, so if you want to ask anything about that, feel free! Just don't bring your broken laptop with you (please!) ;)
