About Me

I was born in Moscow, spent my whole life living here, and once, within my honeymoon, went to Barcelona by car and lived there for around 3 months studying Spanish and getting deeper into the local culture. I'm passionate about road tripping. I've travelled many miles across Eastern Europe.

Most time of the year I spend experiencing what real patience is because I’m raising a 3-year-old. When my parents along with my daughter go to the sea for a couple of weeks and I don’t have to look after my baby I can learn something I’ve never tried before and tended to like. So far it’s skateboarding and playing the piano. I started doing yoga and reading some books that closely relate to Buddhism, though have been brought-up in Christian environment. Moreover, I’m curious about and tolerant of all existing cultures and religions if they are for nonviolence.
I always considered creativity as my personal source of energy. I sometimes make some accessories as hand-made bags, earrings, brooches and so on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve always been into literature and art, always preferred visiting museums and galleries to anything else. But now things are a bit different and so far I’m falling for people and local atmosphere much more than I used to before.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: classical music, especially Bach, who I find the most balanced composer ever, and Beethoven for understanding both human and divine nature. Here I have to list all the existing rock, jazz, country, geo music and so on, but to save our time I'll just mention some authors I really like: Dickens, Mark Twain, Edgar Poe, Leo Tolstoy and many more.
I love both independent films that make me think and straight Hollywood stories that make me smile.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I woke up in Geneva from terrible muscle pain all over the body. I started to analyze what actually had happened. The day before I didn't go to the gym, didn't do trekking. I was calmly expecting a baby. Then, I recalled some moments from my previous day. We were living in Barcelona and on my way to Geneva we drove to the downtown of Barcelona to meet our new landlady because we were supposed to move into a new flat. We stopped somewhere in the middle of the street tracking some navigator's directions and suddenly were distracted by knocking at the window of the car and by sweet words that were addressed to our dog: "Que bonita!". Immediately, the front door from the other side, which unfortunately wasn't locked by that time, was opened and our backpack along with all the IDs, keys, credit cards and so on was stolen. Straight away I realized what'd happened, unfastened the belt, opened the door and jumped out of the car. I ran as fast as I could, even much faster than I dreamt of in my dreams. Chasing those two guys, who really knew how to cooperate well, I was listing out in a high voice all the belongings inside the backpack and asking for help at the same time. They were in front of my eyes, but still, I couldn't reach them. Finally, there was a doomed crossroad and they had just slipped away from me and I didn't know which way to take. At this very moment, an Afroamerican relayed my race, figured out which way they had taken and started chasing them. By that time I was overwhelmed and gave up chasing, turned around and headed directly to the place where I expected to find our car. Frankly, I burst into tears! Then, I heard that somebody was calling me out and it was him, a stranger from Africa who wasn't able to walk past one's trouble ignoring it. And you know what? He was carrying my backpack I didn't expect to see once again. I was so happy to get it back. And I'm still very thankful to this guy!
