About Me

Hi!
My pesonality is a mix of burning curiosity and terrible shyness. I love cats and dogs and also octopuses (horses creep me out a little). I like going to the movies alone, but I also like going to the movies with someone, to discuss stuff later. I love dancing.
If I'm lucky, I'm a freelance interpreter (rus-eng), but if there's no work, I can be anything that's in my range of skills. This approach accidentally landed me in a position af a school teacher in Colombia for eight months.
My Spanish is rubbish and my French is virtually non-existent, but I'm filled with determination!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I'm young and curious.

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to avoid fictional drama, because I'm weak and sensitive, but I enjoy big loud goofy movies. Scott Pilgrim is my all-time favourite, I loved Pacific Rim and the last Mad Max movie (I passionately hate Bay's Transformers tho).
I loved Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are dead; it got me really into Tom Stoppard. I hunted down all his stuff published in Russian.
I mostly read non-fiction, linguistics, biology or history related. Nothing too complicated, popular science stuff. Language Instinct by Pinkerton was great; Inner Fish by Shubin, too.
Favourite TV series in no particular order: Pushing Daisies, Black books, Star trek, Sherlock (it started gloriously but ended in a mess). I also recently watched Utena, it was glorious, I cried.
I'm into comics (not Marvel and DC though; their uber complicated continuity and many reboots are too much for me) and videogames (PC only - not because of any preference, I'm just too broke to buy consoles).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, that's a tough one. I don't have anything in particular to brag about, but I'm prety happy with my current life, and I think that's pretty kickass!
cause you know, happiness is tricky
