About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet people!

ABOUT ME

Short life story - I am originally from Russia but immigrated to the US at the age of 11. After living there (NYS, NH, Boston) for 15 years, I moved to London to study for a couple of years and then found myself with a job offer in Moscow. Thinking this would be the perfect time to re-connect with my roots, I gladly accepted! It is always difficult to answer when people ask me whether I am more American or Russian...I guess a little bit of both! I like connecting to people of all cultures though, and have traveled the world as much as time and money has allowed to do so. I am pretty easy-going and would love to meet both locals and visitors in Moscow over a drink.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others the way you want to be treated

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I arrived to Moscow, I did not have many friends so CS was a natural way to meet new people. Over time, I can say that my best friends in the city are all in some way connected to CS. I've only had a couple of actual surfing experiences because of a very time-demanding job, but they were both very positive, and I am hoping to get more into the project once I get some extended time off work.

Music, Movies, and Books

The older I get, the more my tastes become all over the place, so kind of hard to narrow down a specific list here

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My 2 months in Colombia, un país inolvidable por su gente y sus lugares magicos como la Ciudad Perdida en la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
Lake Bunyoni in Uganda, a beautiful place where I learned that bird watching can actually be a really cool pastime
Climbing a 6000-meter peak in Peru (Chachani)...I will probably never dare to climb to such elevation again!
Galapagos islands - an amazing wildlife paradise that everyone should go to at least once in their life.
And many more memorable experiences, with the full list too long to list them all. Just to name a few - the ancient village of Staritsa in Russia, Angkor Wat, Petra, my 2 weeks in China...

In general, I think I am a very lucky person because in my 31 years on this planet to have seen and experienced these things. It's important not to forget how spoiled our generation is compared to that of our grandparents or even our parents.
