About Me

ABOUT ME

My name is Mike. I plan on trainhopping over the summer, and attending school to learn to produce and compose classical music. I currently play guitar in a punk band called The Proles, and I play guitar, violin, mandolin and banjo in a folk band called The Hungry Hungry Hoboes. Despite the image my outward appearance may convey, I'm a total nerd. I love math, music, reading, old RPGs, xkcd, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

Let's do it and never look back!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few people through couchsurfing, and it's been a great experience. I have yet to surf someone else's couch, but I'm sure it won't be long.

Interests

I really enjoy playing a multitude of instruments, including guitar, bass, violin, mandolin, and I'm learning piano and banjo. I also enjoy reading, playing certain video games, traveling, biking, dumpster diving, writing music, math, etc. I'm interested in a lot of things.

...far too many to list! My favorite genres are punk (ska-core in particular), classical and folk. Not necessarily in that order.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm... I once squatted in an enormous abandoned house near Seattle. That was fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm quite proficient at guitar, and would be more than happy to show you some things. I don't think I'm quite good enough at any other instruments to be giving lessons, but I could certainly show you what I know. I'm somewhat tech-savvy, though I have no internet at home. And I do all my own work on my cars. If you're having automotive troubles, I'd be more than happy to try to help you out. Also, if you like punk music, I could probably introduce you to some great bands you may not be familiar with.
