About Me

I'm a neopagan genderqueer polyglot who loves meeting new people. I'm also a Radical Faerie. I speak English, Spanish, French, German, and Arabic and bits of other languages. I'm currently learning Icelandic.

I'm a clinical informaticist; I work in healthcare supporting end users of EMR (electronic medical record) software.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to meet new people to expand my social circle and have the opportunity to learn how locals live and where the hidden gems are located. I enjoy doing the same for visitors to Portland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met Alan Alda (starred on M*A*S*H) when I was 8 years old while waiting to board a flight from Venice, Italy.

I served dinner to Lech Wałęsa, former president of Poland. He co-founded and headed the Solidarity movement and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983.

I road tripped in Iceland's Golden Circle during near blizzard conditions.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an educator by trade, I naturally teach when imparting information. I used to teach Spanish, French, and Arabic and love to practice speaking those languages whenever possible. If you know Icelandic, I'd love to practice and learn from you. Although I speak German, I know the dialect of my mother's hometown best and would love to share the idiosyncrasies of it with other German speakers.

I very much love learning about how other cultures view different aspects of life and the world so please share that with me.

I eat a vegan (plant-based) diet and enjoy sharing diet and cooking tips with people who are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can assist you with setting up various smart devices and software applications along with connecting electronics to other devices. I train software by trade so I'm very patient with newbies.
