ABOUT ME

I live with my boyfriend Colin. We are a laid back couple and love a good cup of tea or beer while chilling to some dub reggae music. We are also constantly driven to think of new places to go and new things to experience. We have enjoyed hitching around France and spent 2 months traveling around Colombia meeting friends, going for amazing jungle walks and horse riding. We are now in Sumner by the beach in New Zealand.

I enjoy learning and pushing myself at my job. This has meant I have done training in mental health and drug addiction. To chill out from work I enjoy walking in the woods or along the beaches, surfing and cooking ourselves a yummy dinner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have loved hosting couchsurfers in Brighton UK. I met people from all different countries who were traveling for different reasons which was great. We shared stories and food and I got to go out and have fun with a few of them when I wasn't working. I am on my own adventure now and would love to have a similar experience.

Interests

We love listening to big dub reggae sound systems like at London Nottinghill Carnival in London or dancing at the alternative free festivals like Freekuency in Portugal. We also enjoy hitchhiking and picking up hitchhikers, camping, being in the mountaines, swimming in lakes and rivers, hanging out with new and old friends, bike rides and beach walks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Irvine Welsh (Filth, Trainspotting...), Chuck Palahniuk (Haunted, Choke...), Martin Millar (Milk Sulphate and Alby Starvation), Oliver Sacks books. I enjoy travel writing such as authors like William Dalrymple who has written many books about India. I love music from lots of different genres but stuff I like at the moment includes french dub reggae like Panda Dub and French hip hop like Chinese Man as well as The Black Keys and Scientist. I love hearing what others like and sharing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am crocheting a huge jumper for Colin that has been going on for months so if you would like to learn how to crochet I have needles and wool and would be more than happy to show you. Col is a bit of a handyman as this was his last employment so if you need a help with anything please don't hesitate to ask. We have surf boards and body boards you can borrow too. We would love to share our thoughts, experiences and friendship.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to share my cooking skills, Colin has even better! He does a mean traditional English Sunday roast with lashings of gravy.
