About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make connections with people, to explore the world outwardly and myself inwardly

ABOUT ME

I am a young woman, living in Portland with my partner and pup. I traveled around for a few years after college and loved using couchsurfing to meet folks and get a unique experience of the places I was traveling. I grew up in Oregon the state of beautiful forests, mountains, the coast and of course Portland, one of the best cities out there! Now I have finally set roots down and am working towards owning some acreage with room for community, creativity and growth.

I have a passion for food, art and connections with other people. I am like a moth to the flame when any live music comes on, and I am always dancing even if I'm the only one. Everyday I try to challenge myself and learn through every situation whether good or bad. I love family and community and experiencing it throughout the world. I think of myself as socially conscious but continuing to learn more everyday. Smiling is one of my favorite past times. Making gourmet popcorn is my specialty, and I am always happy to make it for anyone that hosts me or that I host! I thoroughly enjoy going to any type of sporting event just for kicks and will rep the Portland Trailblazers until the day I die! I am first generation American with a lot of my family living in Poland.

I am a feminist and have a passion for women's empowerment on a global scale. I love being outside either with my hands in the dirt gardening or doing outdoorsy things like hiking, swimming, climbing, and backpacking as well as snowboarding which I have been doing for 15 years. At my core I am an artist, and love creativity in all of its forms!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe everyone has a story worth sharing and I love lending my ears to hear them. I also strive to learn as much as I can and believe each new experience is a vital part of who I am. I also think going through life being friendly, open and kind will open up worlds of possibility.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love blues, jazz, motown, hip hop, soul, indie, reggae, bluegrass, and folk but will enjoy just about anything live or danceable.
I have a special place in my heart for Wes Anderson and Hayao Miyazaki films, some of my other faves are memoirs of a geisha, black snake moan, beasts of the southern wild, harry potter series and rocky horror picture show!

My favorite poets are Rumi, Mary Oliver and Pablo Neruda.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's a few moments in my life when I've been consumed by awe and I deeply treasure these moments. a few are: Walking through the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, watching the sunrise around Mt. Baker in Washington, saying goodbyes to the 90 children & staff I fell in love with at the orphanage I lived at in Tanzania, and having an out of body experience in India on a vision quest in the himalayas.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to dance and will attempt to share my limited but enthusiastic knowledge of swing dance, salsa, lindy hop, blues and zydeco. Always happy to learn more or just practice as well! I also love sharing music!

Also will always be happy to share in making meals, and the teaching and learning involved in that!

One of my favorite things is sharing travel tips, connections and fun things to do in Oregon & Washington, where I spent most of my life. I love the area and want others to experience it well too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and value the community created through sharing meals, I would be happy to cook for anyone that hosts me.

Plenty of conversation, company and interaction. I couchsurf because I love meeting new people and learning about their experiences and perspectives. Sometimes hosts are busy and I totally get their need for space and privacy as well.

I love to share my knowledge of the pacific northwestern US (Oregon, Washington), and would be happy to give anyone travel tips. As well as a couch to surf when I am there!
