ABOUT ME

I'm funny and witty. I love to have a great time with my friends. I'm very caring- ask my family, friends or students. I am always helping out and giving my time and experience. I have lived all over the US and am actively seeking employment in a fun, new city!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life by going with the flow. I am a very upbeat, positive person and strongly believe in Karma and what goes around, comes around. I live each day as a learner and an explorer. I love being alive.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not sure what this section is supposed to be about "How I participate..."- I would say that I am a very entertaining guest and very respectful. I am super tidy and clean. I have an adventurous spirit and enjoy learning/ trying new things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with an English teacher in Paris for 3 nights. He is now one of my best friends and like an older brother to me. I had the best "local" tour of Paris and Bercy Village with him and he cooked some really great food for me, invited me to a housewarming party with some friends and even went out of his way to take me to and from the airport several times when I had to fly standby. I couldn't ask for a better first time experience.

兴趣

I love music- Indie, Ambient, Electronic, etc... and fashion!! I am very into languages and studying other cultures. I also love to cook and eat- I was vegetarian for many years and vegan for a year until this past summer. I kind of just eat whatever is good, fresh and local. I love yoga and dancing. I sing and play an array of instruments. I was a lead singer in a band in college!

I love foreign films- L'Auberge Espagnole never gets old. I like to read several genres of books. The Alchemist was one of my favs and David Sedaris makes me roll with laughter. I enjoy the historical fiction type works of Tracy Chevalier. Also, anything post-apocalyptic seems to really strike my fancy! My favorite artists in music have been Feist, Sting, Phoenix, The Bird and the Bee, London Grammar, the xx, Yael Naim, Daughter, St Vincent, Bonobo, Yelle, and Brigitte.

Being a teacher for five years has been amazing. I felt I have had such a positive impact on so many interesting students! There's not a day that goes by where something doesn't surprise or amaze me!

I have lots of experience working in several different industries in the US, my travels, and all the places I have lived. I know a lot about other cultures! I pay attention and remember because I love it :)
