About Me

I am a 25 year old, shy and clumsy creature currently living in Toronto, ON. I spend a lot of time going on long walks with my dog, playing music alone and with friends, going to punk shows, and reading and writing. I don't really have a steady full-time job, but manage to support myself financially through a combination of odd jobs, busking, performing, touring, and caring for my grandmother who has Alzheimer's. I have spent a lot of time traveling in the past, but have been pretty stationary for a year or so. When I do travel, i love to hitchhike, ride trains, and stealth camp and I love chatting with folks about all these things. I love to host and attend events, including shows, workshops and parties. I love to spend time in nature, and relish any opportunity to get out of city for any length of time. I constantly struggle with some intense mental health issues and love to chat with folks about coping strategies and experiences. I love to play games - video games, board games, hide and seek, capture the flag, truth or dare, 20 questions, dice, superbetter, card games, magic the gathering, pokemon go. I love cooking and eating healthy, whole foods and sharing meals with friends and family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I initially joined Couchsurfing to surf at other peoples houses as I spent a majority of my time traveling and didn't really have a steady home. It is now very nice to be able to return the favour. I have surfed across North America and have hosted plenty of times. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive and I have met some lifelong friends through couchsurfing. I think its a wonderful idea and a good example of mutual aid in action. I look forward to hosting and visiting many more surfers. Please, though, if you are going to message me and request to stay on my couch, do take the time to read through my profile first. Couchsurfing is a lot more fun when you have at least something small in common with each other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- hitchhiked across canada a few times
- tried to hitchhike to alaska - only made it to chetwynd, BC (over 1000km away from alaska border) but covered some pretty desolate and isolated territory for a hitchhiker.
- rode through the beautiful landscapes and lava fields near kalamath falls and dunsmuir, california in a grainer on a freight train.
- picked cherries in the moonlight just before dawn
- swam in the cold, cold atlantic
- bathed in natural hot springs in the middle of nowhere, BC
- lived briefly in an 8 story abandoned building in the middle of downtown St. Johns, NFLD.

Teach, Learn, Share

I`m enthusiastic to learn anything your willing to teach! I want to learn bicycle mechanics, cartography, math, the violin, and how to knit. can anyone help me out? I want to learn to cook better over a campfire. I would love to pick up any tidbits of language that i can. Sharing recipes is always fun.

I can teach music theory, american sign language, optimism, and guitar. I know how to build a silkscreen and how to build and renovate a house. I also am learning how to play the banjo and could teach it or would love some advice and tips on how to play different styles. i am a fairly accomplished guitar player and can teach that as well. i have been studying building renovations for a couple of years and can teach carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical, and how to survive as a femme person in a field that is dominated by misogynistic douchebags.
