ABOUT ME

I'm British-Australian and it's my life-long dream to travel the world. I'm always bright and bubbly and take problems in my stride. I'm extremely easygoing, enjoy discussions and listening to people's stories.

I'm quite an independent person, and take care of myself.

PHILOSOPHY

I do try and live simply, and try to avoid being too materialistic, the exception being books. I treasure memories and experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined the CS community back in the UK, I was hoping to host once I got back to Aust, but sadly my share-house won't allow it. I've been to a couple of meet-ups and met a lot of delightful people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had FANTASTIC experiences thanks to Couchsurfing! From long deep conversations to sitting back and being a 'fly on the wall', everything has been brilliant.

I enjoy the meetups as well as staying with lovely generous people who allow me into their lives and homes.

Interests

I'm a total book freak and I'm liable to walk away from a city with a much heavier suitcase! I also enjoy movies and games. As a counterbalance to my couch-potato-ness I do try and get out for hiking and sight-seeing. I am a total tourist nut and a sucker for anything famous.

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors- Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson, Sue Townsend, Enid Blyton, Issac Asimov, Arthur Conan Doyle, Richard Heinlein, The Big Issue.

Directors- Kubrick, Tarrantino, Hitchcock, Orson Welles, anything with comedy- Jim Carey and Buster Keaton. I also highly recommend Joseph Cotton.

Music- Diehard Oasis fan, but I'm open to listening to anything- I like looking up mashups on youtube and I'm always borrowing cds from friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is the hardest section to write on. Memories that come immediately to mind are going to Uluru and seeing the stars at night, in a landscape devoid of light pollution. Being in Japan and learning to make Japanese tea, and staring out into the garden and spacing out. Going into the Saudi Desert and taking in the bleak and desolate landscape.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching English, empowering people to survive, and then be able to reach out and take control of their situation in a new language is an amazing process to participate in.

I wish to learn more of history and science, and always interested to listen to other people's lessons from life.
