About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm here to learn and live. I studied as an anthropologist and love to learn what I can about people and culture.

ABOUT ME

I am a 30 year old, young man, looking for adventure and cultures to fall in love with. I'm active physically and mentally. I'm always challenging myself. Studying Anthropology, I have learned about cultures and the life-ways of people from all over the globe. Most of my education in anthropology has come from books and I seek to broaden my knowledge of the world through first hand experiences. While experiencing what life has to offer I am looking to form new friendships and bonds with people who are genuine and want to learn from life too.

If you have a facebook. You can look at "my website" to the left. You may have to add me as a friend, if so just include a message like "CS".

PHILOSOPHY

Well I have worked so hard the past several years. I have noticed that yes, although I have a degree I have not done some of the things that I set out to do. I look back and wonder where has the time gone, well now I'm making up for lost time, I want to see all that I can, learn all that I can, and live all that I can live. Life is short and I don't want to miss a thing. I live to learn and be inspired.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am a couch surfer. When I found out about this website I was so excited that there is a community that is all about doing what I did when I let my friends crash on the couch and learn about my culture. I look forward to participating more in the future through surfing and hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not surfed much lately as I have been very involved in work. Aside from crashing on the couches with family and friends, I have surfed couches from people whom I did not know very well (who are now great friends) and loved every minute of it!

Interests

I am interested in so many things, I don't know where to start. Well as far as school goes I am interested in Cultural Anthropology, Osteology, Medicine, and Historical Archaeology. I enjoy flying airplanes. I love the outdoors and being active. I like to hang out with my friends and make memories. There are more interests and if you wanna know you can always ask :) I just wanted to name a few.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow, this list could be long, but I'l keep it brief. Movies- Top Gun, Pretty much anything James Bond, The Big Lebowski, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I like action and I love to laugh. Music- I like most genres, it just depends on my mood. Currently I'm listening to Hollywood Undead, 3oh3!, The Offspring, and Pennywise. Books- My favorite books are Way of the Peaceful Warrior and The Alchemist. I also enjoy the fantasy genre. I have not done much reading over the past couple years, but now that my head is not stuck in a textbook as much maybe my interest will be sparked.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked on the edge of a frozen lake in early April of last year (2008)to get as close as I could to Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. The ground was covered in snow, small snow flurries were circling me at times. The best part was that I was there before tourist season started and aside from the few locals just looking for solitude from their daily jobs, I found myself standing with a girlfriend at times just the two of us with no one around. We had the big blue behemoth of ice all to ourselves. It was breathtaking to say the least.

Teach, Learn, Share

Material goods are just that... material! Go outside and experience all that life has to offer, after all when those material goods are long gone, the memories made from experiencing life will always be there and no one can take that away.
