About Me

ABOUT ME

I am Pooh, from Vietnam, started hosting by myself since 14 years old. I moved to Taiwan 3 years ago for a master’s degree. I am now working as a marketing executive in a company in Taiwan. I’m also a Vietnamese language tutor.

I have been waiting for this day when Taiwan reopens and tourism recovers then I can host back after a very longgggg time. The last time I hosted someone probably was 7-8 years ago when I was in high school, then because of college and post education, I continuously lived in dormitory and couldn’t host among that time. NOW I’M BACK! I’M REALLY BACK!

I currently live with my kitty Chin Su in a shared flat near Longshan Temple MRT, which is very central, near to Ximending and other attractions. If you want to take trains to the South, there is the Wanhua Station nearby. I have one high bunk bed and one couch under the bunk bed. If you don’t mind sharing one room with me, just come. You can have the bunk bed and I will sleep on the couch. My cat Chin Su is very easy to make friend with. If you stay here for 2-3 nights, she might jump up to sleep with you on the bunk bed. Hope you don’t mind sharing the bed with her.

I am actually very busy in weekdays because I have Vietnamese language class mostly every night after work. If you come at weekends, that would be much better, since we can spend more time together and I can take care of you more. In weekdays you still can come. I will give you the keys so you can freely go out and come back anytime. We still can spend time together when I’m back from work.

This is my phone number: (+886)908.520.864. Call me or send me one message in case of emergency (but I have Couchsurfing app on my iPad so normally I will reply your messages promptly).
PHILOSOPHY

I’m a Christian. I join a church here in Taipei. We have service every Sunday morning. You also can join with me if you want to see how Christianity’s like in Taiwan. Our church is also different from what you imagine about church.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started to host people since I was 15. At that time I lived with two of my cousins in a house in Son La city for studying in Son La High School for the Gifted. We had a valuable amazing unforgetable meaningful time when we host people from many different countries and I learnt a lot from them.

7 years after that was for college and post education and I couldn't host as I always lived in dormitory/small rooms, but I still couchsurfed when I travel.

Now I live in Taipei, Taiwan and have better accommodations. I meant to find a room which have sofa/bunk bed to host and luckily I found this ideal room with perfect location. Very excited to host back again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1️⃣ When I was 15 years old, I cycled a school bike alone to Moc Chau which is 120 km far from where I lived, then met flood on the way back. Ride to there in one day, visit in one day and ride back in one day. What I achieved from the spontaneous trip was that my butt got hurt several months after I get back.
2️⃣ I started hosting since I was 15 years old without my parents knowing because I live in another town to go to a high school for the gifted. People called me the youngest host in the world. Later on, CS changed the policy and locked all the accounts under age 18. I even created another account to keep using until I really reach age 18.
3️⃣ When I was 18 years old enough, I travelled to Laos ignoring my dad's prohibition (which made us had a really big fight and he almost broke the father-son relationship with me), but the result after all is that he later got familiar and was fine with me travelling abroad alone.
4️⃣ I tried to give blood in almost every country I visited and successfully gave blood 3 times in China, once in Myanmar, once in Cambodia (plus around 10 times in Vietnam). Other countries have stricter policy so I couldn’t make it.

Teach, Learn, Share

☝️ I love boardgames. I have Uno and Rummikub. We can play together.
✌️ I love cooking then we can cook and share the meals together. We have a common kitchen but not every flatmate use it. I can cook Vietnamese foods for you, it’s definitely much better than Vietnamese restaurants in Taiwan.
🤟 I know how to play basic guitar. Also we can teach each other songs.
