About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To hoop with two hula hoops at a time.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel! I enjoy the freedom and expereinces travel offers. I love to learn about the people of each country I visit, and what their lifestyle is all about. I like to learn about different cultures through the food, the passion, hopes and dreams of the people, and their family life.
New experiences keep me ticking, however at the same time I am also very homely when I have the opportunity to be. I love to cook, and sit with good friends and family for a lovely home cooked meal.
Nature is also one of my great loves. To go for a walk in the forest (or the bush, as its called in Australia) seeking out wild flowers and feathery or fury creatures is something I've always enjoyed, from when I was a child.
I'm a pretty easy going character and like to chill out and have a beer or wine, or spend a lazy afternnon reading in a hammock. I think I am someone who can adapt to most situations.
Oh and one more thing, I love to garden and whatch the veggies grow, then cook up an amzing organically home grown meal!

PHILOSOPHY

Overall I hope to live a fulfilling life, sharing my experiences with family and friends I meet along the way. To take life as it comes, and to have no regrets is a philosophy I try to live by. To respect others is a must and never give up trying to evolve as a person Living in harmony with nature and respecting this beautiful planet which provides us with a home and sustainance is the way I try to live my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a surfer I feel I participate to the Couch Surfing Project by offering a cultural exchange with other people all around the world. I feel so much can be gained by people getting together from different corners of the globe, and sharing their life experiences with one another.
When I arrive home and set up a house, I will definately be offereing my couch to the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not yet couch surfed, through CouchSurfing. I am really looking forward to my first expereince!

Interests

I enjoy films, especially art house films, although I do like a comedy or gangster film every now and again.
I love the Spanish language and I hope to one day be fluent in Spanish.
I love wild flowers and my favourite type of flower that is found world wide are those from the pea family (I also love to eat peas strangely enough!)
I love long walks and to swim. The beach is my favourite place to swim.
I enjoy eating and cooking, I especially like trying new foods.
I am always reading a book.

Music, Movies, and Books

Three of my favourite films; Volva, Carlitos Way and the Goddess of 1967.
My favourite book; The Sweetest Dream, by Dorris Lessing. I enjpy books that tell a strory about people and their experiences in life. Whether its a story of love, war, politics or a persons chilhood, if the author can breath life in to the characters, I will love the book.
I love a range of different music, I enjoy chilling out to reggae, dub and accoustic music. I love dancing to Latino and up beat reggae music. Most music with a good beat (and that is not in the top forty) will get me dancing. I love to dance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two months volunteering in a small community in the North East of Costa Rica. My time in this lovely community was a mix of emotions. It was lonely and frustrating at times, however it was incredibly chalanging and rewarding. It was an experience that taught me so much about myself and the kindness and generosity of people who have next to nothing. It was a short time, only two months, but it was unforgetable.

I have seen great monuments and temples, but the greatest thing I have seen on my travels, is the resiliance of people who have so little, but they still carry on and face the hardships of their lives each day with a smile on their face.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my life and travel expereinces as well as a smile, some laughs and friendship. I can teach what I have learnt myself about travel, the natural world and human nature (I can also teach english).
Whatever you think you can teach me about; life, travel, language, science, history, the universe.....anything, I would love to learn!
