I'm Poppy and I live in Whitechapel with my boyfriend Barney, our cat Zané and two turtles, Wyndham and Wadsworth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love where I live and enjoy sharing that with people who come to visit. London is an amazing city but it can be overwhelming especially for people who don't know it well. I really enjoy showing people a different side to the city.

I travel regularly and am always up for trying new things. I have done flat swaps in the past and had great experiences that way but I am new to Couch Surfing.

Interests

I am currently studying Illustration at Kingston University so art is a big one. I have worked in galleries in the past and originally studied History of Art so I enjoy visiting exhibitions and museums and generally being a tourist in my own city.

I go regularly to pottery classes at Hackney City Farm. I also do aerial yoga, which is yoga in a hammock. It's weird but I love it.

Other interests: I like going to the theatre and seeing live music.

Music, Movies, and Books

With films and music, there is just too much to choose from. We have a big selection of DVDs and records.

Books is a lot easier as I'm a slow reader: Just Kids, The Book Thief, Tiny Beautiful Things, The Five People You Meet in Heaven and Call the Midwife.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a child I sailed around the world. My family and I did the ARC race across the Atlantic from the UK to America and we came third in our group.
